Learn to read please.FF14 1.0 was in an overall poor state. From outdated concept to bad game design and horrible gate keeping. That compete with world of warcraft, mostly any mmo in this time failed! And FF14 1.0 was not a good one! To blame that on the cut scene time, come on that is cheap!
Oh, and i didn't read the rest of you post after this sentence.... it was pointless since you used bad faith from the start.
Oh, and i still have my FFXIV 1.0 DvD Box ^^
What is an MMO. By definition a game, where many players play the game on the same server! Is that not valid for these games? No?! They are solo mmos, because there main gameplay is solo! You can invite others from a server list to your game and play on the same map. But the main deal is solo, like in final, where you can play the whole game solo until you reach lev 100. The fact that people can use the same zones as you make it not an mmo, only that you play on the same servers. Hope next time you get your definition before you claim others as false.
Fine, have a nice day. But please, when you exit a discussion, please stay outside it and go away when people want to discuss.
That is why i least i can try to show SE that they must change! But my hope is not high... you are right, my hope that they change is not high anymore.
That is why i find these white knights so annoying, because they only show square enix that they do a good job, they blow sand in there eyes... by accepting a bad product.
Prettys sure you're the only one here who doesn't get the definition right. Just goggle WuWa and you can see nobody called it an MMO. Not even WuWa reddit. Calling it an MMO is like calling bg3 an MMO. WuWa is mobile game with coop feature, that's all. There's nothing "massive multiplayer" about it.What is an MMO. You don't want to discuss things since you only yap about your argument without listening to others.
MMO aka massive multiplayer online, every game where you log in on the same server and has the potential to play together is an MMO. While a normal multiplayer game is mostly with a bunch of people on the same server, but a massiv multiplayer, is a multiplayer where you can potentially play with everyone who is on the server together. Many many players and that is valid for FF14 and WoW and such games who only share a lobby like Guild Wars 1 or Phantasy Star Online and also is valid for games where you log in on the same server and invite other player who are active on that server to play together. That is a MMO, same server and to play together with everyone who is active on that server! Not some strange idea that everyone must be on the same map or similar things. Get your facts!Prettys sure you're the only one here who doesn't get the definition right. Just goggle WuWa and you can see nobody called it an MMO. Not even WuWa reddit. Also if you don't want discuss with me, maybe don't do it! Nobody stand behind you with a gun and you must face the consequences when not. But maybe, only maybe, you simply are not grown up enough, that you know, people can discuss with people and cut out parts of there arguments. Also to claim people they "yap" is also only a insult to them. Its ad hominem, you don't attack the argument, you attack the person to make the argument invalid.
So please, take your own advice and do not answer me! I am fine with it! Have a nice day and next time, get your facts correct or have the guts to say you are wrong.
I have to ask, what's your profession?[*]Also look at FF16, lets say they build that game in 6 years. We have about 22 hours of cut scenes. We could say that was about 18 minutes of cut scene per month. So 73 minutes of that quality of cut scenes would be on the same level per patch! Did we get that? Also for the same price as FF16. 60$ of subscription.
Lets say i am kind a expert and veteran player of FF14. More you will not get as an answer.
Even when i would post you a screenshot of my playtime that is over 1200 days, it would be used again me.
Its the same with my real life profession, when i would claim now a i am a retired game developer, everybody can say i am lying.
And they would not be false, because i can't proof it!
So i stay with my arguments that are based on my experience, if you want to discuss on that level go on. My profession do not matter at all.

Ok.

Duration of cutscenes does not scale linearly with development time, as if quality is a constant factor.
True, the developing time of the cut scenes could be less than 6 years. But it do not change the fact that FF16 has 22 hours of cut scenes, where most of them where done with motion capturing techniques. So i use the maximum of the developing time and calculate the amount of cut scenes that we would get per month, so with 4 months they could give us 73,3minuts of the same quality as in FF16.
My point is, SE can do 73,3 minutes of cut scene in FF16 per month of there developing time, with motion capturing, why we don't get not the same quality as them, even when we get mostly far less than 73,3 minutes?
So what is your point? They could do it, but they do not want to do it. Maybe because they never build a system to use motion capturing for FF14, than my question is? Why they don't do this for FF16 and not for FF14 and to be clear, in FF15 who use the same engine as FF14 they also use motion capturing!
