How about you merge datacenter PFs instead of making it more annoying

This is very important to know, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING will stop people from overcrowding Aether to go do their PF raiding there outside of an outright ban.

So instead of designing systems to make it even more annoying, which people will definitely overcome, please stop wasting time and merge the Party finders so this madness can stop.

It's bad enough that I have navigate menu after menu to change servers and transfer my character back and for just to check on my house and play the game. Now we are getting returned to our DC but we log in to the Datacenter we logged out on and our character is missing. This game is absolutely broken in this regard atm.

We've been asking for Cross-DC Party Finder for a very long time.

Apparently, something is in the works, but we've seen nothing of this, and I cannot give actual proof of this.

It's less "something is in the works" and more "we're trying to figure out how to remove programming hurdles that would prevent it from working as players want". At one point, YoshiP had even commented in a Live Letter about wishing for a miracle programmer to appear that could figure out a solution for them.

I hope they've at least contacted the WoW technical team to see how their Group Finder and LFR matching work. WoW's method probably wouldn't work for FFXIV but it might offer some inspiration for a solution.

Much easier for them to just wait it out until the last player who was in for the 'gameplay' is out. Not many left and the ones that are still there are mostly plugin cheaters so unwanted and troublesome customers anyway.

Then they can fully concentrate on milking the virtual house party and Barbie doll people who whale all store emotes and glams the day they are released.

If anything the amount of tech debt that FFXIV has is so large I don't even know where to begin with it, from spaghetti code all the way to its systems and servers.

When it comes to removing the tech debt? That's a big undertaking if you're trying to implement something new without it messing up since bugs are abound more often than not. If anything trying to get CWPF working is a fight in itself, since you would have to have data centers connect with each other while dealing with an already constant connection between player and server(including server calls for player actions/instances).

Preventing a server crash is probably the least of their worries due to how bad some of XIV's connectivity is.
