FFXIV totems need to change

Oh my sweet summer child, you have clearly not spent time mount farming in other MMOs.

The totems are respectful of your time. I know people who are still grinding out Invincible in WoW from an expansion that came out in 2008. 99 totems may feel excessive but it's bad luck protection. If the mount has a 1% drop rate, it's ensuring you do the exact amount of clears needed to ensure you're not going over that 1% worth of effort.

That way, you don't have to replicate the experience of someone like me, where a 1% drop took me 1262 kills to get:



I want the wings as much as anyone, but asking you to do 99 kills isn't terrible in terms of a grind, especially considering you can keep doing it and don't have to wait for next week's reset like you do in most other MMOs.

There it is. I was waiting for someone to post something stupid like this.

"Other games have it worse, therefore this isn't bad."

Both situations are bad. Both disrespect the player's time. Just because one is worse doesn't mean the other isn't still a problem.

It's like saying you shouldn't complain about your broken leg because someone else broke both legs.
