    They always used to give 1 totem. I agree that there being 2 totems made the grind less painful. However, SE said it was becoming a pattern and they didn't want to give 2 totems forever; it was only intended because they felt the fights were "longer than normal" (didn't always notice this, personally).

    Having cleared this extreme trial, I don't actually agree that it's very hard. I personally think the ice phase in Sphene's Burden is harder to get right.

    Both the normal version and the extreme version of Recollection are very easy once you're used to it, tbh. The problem is the huge variation in strats people use. Literally every party is using very different strats, so make sure to list every one of them in the description.

    If you want to do a trial once, that's up to you really, but personally I like the experience of farming it. Not everyone seems to get that this is one of the basic ways you get social interaction in the game, and helping people get through it has been social just like all the other Dawntrail extremes were for me.

    This is the PR statement. The actual reason is they likely looked at participation rates and noticed a sharper decline because of the two totem drop, which made them switch back. Not to mention, with the drip feed nature of content, Zelenia is all a good portion of the playerbase has for the better part of two months.

    To further emphasise this, the fastest kill time for Sphene is only a minute longer than Zelenia while Golbez and Zeromus are on par or shorter during their respective release patches. Simply put, it's a blatant excuse to artificially stretch out content and nothing else.
