Randomly crashing when in Borderless Windowed

I haven't played since 7.0, and I just came back to the game and I realized that for some reason, after a seemingly random amount of time in-game (but before 10 minutes), the game crashes. Audio stutters, pc stutters, and one time my whole pc shut down, and when it crashes it gives me a "Fatal DirectX Error 11000002" message. I have only tested this 3 times before finding a "fix".
After I switched to fullscreen, this hasn't happened again. While I'm fine continuing to play the game in fullscreen, I really would much rather play in borderless windowed if I am able for the faster alt-tab times.

Just to warn you, SE is going to have field day. They will insist you turn off your overlays and will insist you have the game on C:

I know it's bunk, but they will harp it unless you do. I have a semi similar issue I have been fighting fora month plus, with no resolution. Random crashing and so forth. A quick search has found that error is somewhat known. You might want to try 2 things.

First, try force capping the FPS to 30 or 60 FPS. Secondly, you can try disabling the 'fullscreen optimizations' and see if that gives you better results. Just a few simple things you can try that are easy to reverse if they don't solve the issue.

Alright, I'll try that.
What's weird is that I've had the game on E: with overlays with 0 issues, and I played it from ARR to 7.0 with not a single crash. It only just started happening after I came back for 7.2 and I missed out on 7.1 entirely so I wouldn't even be able to tell which patch broke my game haha.

Same here, 10+ years playing the game across 3 PCs, all with the game on a drive other than C.

I just mention it since SE will insist it has to be on C for them to 'help' I also have discord and all that, it's just they have a set of things they want to help you. My issue started in mid Feb between 7.1 and 7.2 updates.
