Every main char is a teen. And every supporting character mentor is 25 and everyone over 20 is "Old man" status. If youre over 30 in a japanese story you might as well have grey hair, a stubble and smoking cigarettes.

Thats why the twins will never age and the Dawntrail MSQ was rather teeny writing yeah.

If the writer is from older generation than I can understand. Seeing a lot of story writer, anime producer that live through WWII and they all have a strong feeling about sending kids to die in the war for the older generation etc. They have a strong sense of “teen/children are the one creating the future, not their old man (30+).

Although, I believe Natsuko Ishikawa is extremely unlikely from those era. Yet, she might have been taught by those generation. Unfortunately, we (typical Asian) have this kind of education/ teach how being taught. I was a high school teacher back in my country and I am afraid there are lots of push back from change from both students and older/senior teaching staffs.

I wouldn't mind an original story either going into the former provinces of Garlemald or going to Meracydia. Either place we go finally learning something about Azem since s/he seems to be the final remaining plot thread from the past arc.

But if we have to take inspiration from another game I'd like for them to going for a story like Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. Using the Scions seeming gravitation of helping the little guy finally biting them in the butt.

I think it's just more because of Japanese culture. Basically you only have full freedom when you are still a highschool student. The moment you're older than that, it's all about being responsible adult who has to fit in with society. Hence why most Japanese media (especially shonen) features highschool MC and generally young cast of characters.

That said, imo yoshi-p actually prefer older, more mature protagonist. Which is why we get FF16 Clive.
