    Unreal dps checks

    So after getting back into unreal farming thanks to Byakko having a reasonable enrage timer, we're right back to the issue with previous unreals this patch with Suzaku wiping parties at 5-10% with food and only two deaths (one healer). This one might not even be possible with certain compositions (had a BRD/MCH/SMN) and the risk of shedding a healer/tank most likely outweighs the reward.

    This trial is also noticeably antiquated by DT standards, with Suzy jumping off screen right before the end of the initial 20s burst phase, tanks surviving the add enrage and having to wait around a minute to wipe, and the final enrage cast itself being artificial as the arena blows up about 10% of the way in rather than dealing chip damage. Especially poetic after already seeing a 0.1% wipe with another group.

    These checks pretty much kill this content off entirely for the whole patch cycle which is not something the game needs right now. It also doesn't bode well at all for Seiryu, who was somewhat worth looking forward to otherwise. Byakko's boring transition phase aside, the fight was feasible enough to keep this content slightly more active.

    Yeah, right now it feels impossible due to the fact that it's way to strict, even w/ food, potions, & a few party deaths. I've spent the majority of my play during the last couple of days (with many different parties) doing the fight & have yet to clear it. "Enrage" for any fights are stupid really since it make any gear pointless. We may as well enter the battle with no clothes on.

    I agree that Suzaku's DPS check is a bit unreasonable. Someone could say "get good" but the reality is you don't have that much control with who joins your PF. The chances are high they won't exactly be above average. I think the check just wasn't tuned correctly and could use a nerf.

    #Use potion after the dancing part (you get a big damage buff)
    #optimize your uptime and damage rotation.

    I had a few deaths on my first kill and still cleared.

    i think it puts a nice pressure on people to try to not be a deadweight in fights. Byakko was a literal joke where you could have 20 deaths and not see enrage..

    When i cleared the new suzako we had the 30 sec dmg down on everyone, because people failed the towers + 2 or 3 deaths during the fight. Its manageable :shrug:

    Doesnt matter if you only had 2 deaths, if people dont know how to press buttons, instead of looking at "we used food and we had only 2 deaths" just check the dmg, hey you can call me now toxic but judging on my previous unreal experience its 100% lacking dps

    Basically this. Because Unreal has zero requirements besides being max level and doing a short quest, which might as well be no barrier to entry at all, you get a lot of people in there who really have no idea how to properly play their job and deal acceptable damage.

    Of course it's more forgiving, it was balanced around the kits and DPS output that jobs had back in Stormblood and most likely further nerfed by the stat squish, the Unreal however is balanced to account for our current bloated potencies.

    This is why "level synced minimum ilvl" is not a good representation of how the content was when it was current.

    I remember it at least not being a cakewalk on day 1, which is basically what Unreal simulates. And day 1 of the extreme had the benefit of generally decent players being in your PF, because they all needed the weapon for savage.
