Viera ears... Is this normal?

I've been fishing on one of my characters instead of doing MSQ in 7.25, meaning I get to see my ears in a variety of skyboxes during a variety of times of day, and I noticed through the day that my ears have been doing this... This feels new. If this is intended, is there any way in my graphics settings to undo this? This is incredibly disappointing and messing with my Shadow Quality settings don't seem to fix this and it's silly looking... I'll suffer until 7.25 if I have to, but I can't unsee this and I can't understate my dislike of this lighting/shader on my ears.
