I guess you must have really did some grinding to clear story, get all the new crafter books, gather mats & craft full ilvl 740 , clear EX trial and get wings, new minion from dungeon, minion & mount from pvp season, and 5 new TT cards. I'd think that would take a couple more hours or so!

Not really. Extreme trial farming could take a few days if they farm a lot, not even including prog in that. Then Savage Prep as you said. Then actually doing Savage.

Now, if you aren't interested in Extreme and Savage and don't do any social content (such as RP), and feel you aren't getting much for your subscription, then you could always resubscribe when Cosmic Exploration or the Field Operation comes out, if you are interested by either of those.

I'm basically this game's biggest "doomer" by this point, and haven't even logged in for 7.2 yet (bc lolprivacy) but I think this is a bit disingenuous? Finding it hard to find data from 7.1 but it seems the patch launch peak was slightly stronger than 7.1

The question is entirely if it'll hold, but you can reasonably extract that 7.1's population size has mostly returned for 7.2 to give it a shot, meaning player goodwill overall has not quite eroded to the point of quitting for these players, even if the peak of players is significantly weaker than endwalker before it.
X.2 patches are usually a little stronger as they hold "more value" compared to X.1, so this is expected. There is no standout performance or dip at this point in time, talk to me again in a week when there is more data to go around. Because uh... people sleep, my guy

(with this "defense" out of the way, I still hate the dripfeed and the fact that DT patches feel light, and also the privacy thing, but I also do not like data misrepresentation.)
