were guaranteed gear pieces for your role removed from dungeons??

i just did the new dungeon for the first time and after completing the last boss, i did not receive the usual guaranteed piece of gear for my role. i didn't receive any gear after beating the last boss, only the random gear from the chest.

do dungeons just... not give a guaranteed piece of gear anymore? what is going on? why did i not receive my guaranteed piece of gear for my role?

since when? today? because i've been playing for years and i've always gotten guaranteed gear for my role in dungeons i've queued for.

It has always been leveling dungeons only. Guaranteed gear has never been a thing for the level cap dungeons.

Also, it's not a drop "for your role", but specifically for your job. Meaning as DPS, it'll be based on what DPS job you're playing. A monk will get different drops upon leveling dungeon completion then a dragoon, for example. Which is good, because after a certain point dps gear gets that specific that only 1 or 2 Jobs can use it. Especially for physical melee gear.

by level cap dungeons, do you mean the current level cap? because otherwise this does not align with my own personal experience. i've always queued for level 70/80 dungeons to get their gear and i was always given a piece guaranteed.

No, "level cap" means X0 level dungeons, so 50/60/70/80/90/100. These are the "High level" dungeons. As opposed to the "leveling" dungeons which are level ranges of X1 to X9. As an example, The Vault (level 55) is a Leveling Dungeon but Anti-tower (level 60) is not. Stone Vigil (level 41) is a leveling dungeon. Wander's Palace (level 50) is not.

i know how gear works. by your example, i know monks get striking gear and i know dragoons get maiming gear. i have a majority of my classes at 90 through manual play and i've been playing ffxiv since 2015 besides. i was just struggling to think of how else to call it when making this post. and technically it is role based, as there are several types of dps (ranged dps, melee dps, magic dps) that are grouped within dps. regardless, this is unrelated to my post

Don't know what else to tell you, it's always been levelling only, previous level cap dungeons have never guaranteed drops. I know people who've been asking for it to be added for years to make it easier to get certain glamour pieces.
