Pineapple on Pizza is great!

Really it's not a jog, but a jog sped up to the speed of a run (which looks a bit unrealistic animation-wise) even for my Miqo'te that has a good run animation.
But I'll take a fast forward Benny Hill sketch run animation over slowly trying to get anywhere when not an aiming class haha.
Honest question... Why not just make Sprint and toggle on/off outside of combat?
Why implement job giving me this janky ass speed up animation insted of just giving me a sprint that do's not end after 20 sec.
About the animation: Jog does the exact same thing Peloton has done since forever, same run speed, even the (lack of) distinct animation from normal run, so while it is an upgrade, it just feels like "Oh it's Peloton that I don't have to keep refreshing". and I can always right click the buff to take it off when I don't want it.
I agree that a toggle would be best though, as it works in PvP and Cosmic.
Jog feels like a second class solution to a problem that only exists because the Devs seem to insist on 20s Sprint timer... What ever this adds to the gameplay is lost on me.
Also I am for Peloton changes so that it's speedbuff can be used inside combat. Make the timer shorter or what ever but it would give the skill utility.
It's simple, a lot of FFXIV combat revolves around positioning, being faster=easier mechanics, a huge part of why SCH's Expedience is absurdly powerful isn't because it is a good mitigation tool, though it also is that, but it is also a party wide Sprint whenever the SCH wills it, and it cannot be understated how powerful that is, that one party member that seem to struggle with a mechanic and just barely doesn't make it will be able to make it reliably now, even the 20 second Sprint makes absolute sense from a pure combat point of view because it adds a tiny bit of nuance for when to use Sprint in dungeons, and trying to use it *just before* you aggro a pack of enemies to get the most out of it, I want to make it clear this isn't much, it barely moves the needle, but it is above 0, and that's important, nor should it be given up, giving up on things little by little has led to a lot of frustration from the player base.
However they also shown that they can just replace skills with other skills based on location, Cosmic does exactly that, so why not do that instead, have one toggle-based Sprint for overworld areas, including cities, and one timer-based Sprint for instanced content, you can even keep Jog, Jog would have a real role for things like Alliance Raids, where there IS a significant amount of walking between combat clusters, so even that isn't a bad idea.
I agree that Peloton should be changed, but I don't know what that would be, Jog did take it out to back of a shed and killed it.
^^^ALL THIS.Of all the things we got this patch I did not expect anyone actually complaining about "jog". People have been complaining about a lack of speed in the city since what feels like the beginning of time and now we get a fix that works for everyone, it is considered The Worst Of The Worst...?
Yes, you could switch to Peloton, but guess what: Not everyone likes to play a phys ranged job. Not everyone has a phys ranged job. There are actually many people who prefer other jobs, naturally, because there are a lot of jobs and different people like different things. Assuming "just do the stuff people with all jobs on max level do, random sprout" is such an odd take. You also don't always have Peloton in duties because of this, because not every Duty Finder group ever comes with a phys ranged job.
I am glad we have an option to get faster through cities.
*snips the rest because char limit*
There's several animations for running that I don't care for in this game:
Midlander female run swinging arms from the elbows reads "girly run" to me: the kind that's inefficient and what girls often did because it was "expected" of them.
Elezen female run involves bellydancer-level swinging of the hips: as in, all I can think is "Oh hell her lower back and hips are gonna hurt SO much from that after a while."
Male Au Ra have an extremely "hulking" hunched-over run (that's very menacing to me). So do male Hrothgars, but at least with the Hroths their standing body-type is also hunched a bit, so it makes a little more sense with them; male Au Ra stand very straight. Male Miqos also do a bit of a hunch when running, but not as much. They also stand with their hands doing a strange "sort of clawing" look like there's a neurological issue going on with them.
Know what? I just figure "Well they're trying to make the races/genders look more different from each other," and I let it go. If I genuinely can't stand to watch that type of character running, I pick a different character to play. *shrug* Fantasia is a thing.
But as said above, the big *gain* with jog is that it's faster than our regular movement through a city, and honestly I just want to GET TO THE PLACE. Usually as fast as I can. Because I'm doing things, and don't care to slowly "fast-walk" through places I've seen a bajillion times now. If "sprint" was continual I'd be even happier, but getting sprint and then jog is still better than our former "fast walk," IMO.
Which is also why they gave us a MUCH faster sprint for CE: the area on the moon is HUGE, and it would take FOREVER to get places even with the old sprint, so they made sprint there even faster. (Which makes the new sprint in cities and job feel really slow, once you've been on the moon for a while, lol.)
Anywho, people can get upset over anything and that's fine, but to me this is a really *weird* thing to get THIS upset over. *shrug* Ah well.
"For the world is hollow, and I have touched the sky."
So to give all the people who solo timed out on the potd floor 200 slope and uninstalled one final slap in the face? Do you realize that FFXIV is not only your barbie and ken virtual estate game and box bosses?

Just in case it hasn't been stated yet, I hope you all realize that you can click the jog buff icon to manually turn it off. Actually getting angry with something that is in every aspect, is a buff with no downsides.
Factual and true
