I wasn't expecting anyone to hate jog, I love it and think it feels great, but then again. I don't really focus on my character when running I'm more focused on where I'm going. So, this will be a rant about the new passive effect called "Jog" introduced in 7.2.
Jog genuinely makes me want to stop playing. I know very well that that sounds strange and stupid, fully aware, but i just HATE the sped up running-animation, and to have that "forced" upon me actively makes the game worse. When playing a physical ranged damage dealer I already hated having to press Peloton after every pack in a dungeon, and now having to to that on every single job in the game..? No thanks.
Now i have to choose between always having my character run like a cartoon character, or be punished for not doing that... I remember when they added special animations for Sprinting with your weapon equipped and I was SO hyped about it. Now, I want to remove Sprint from my bars entirely - though I can already hear people in dungeons yelling at me for not using Jog. Ugh...
Ninja is my favourite job in the game, but I always hated how their slightly increased movement speed made my character run. But I still loved the job so I ignored it. Now ALL jobs have an EVEN WORSE sped up animation..! Why..!?
Now, I understand that most people probably love the introduction of Jog, but personally I've never had an issue with the normal running speed for the past 11 years of playing, and I've no idea why they felt the need to change that. We've got Sprint, Teleport, Aetherytes, increased Sprint duration in cities, Peloton, and this patch even gave us mounting up while running. WHY on earth do we need Jog too?
Please, at least give me an option to toggle it off permanently...
Again, I know it's a stupid thing to be mad about, but I genuinely feel like it makes my gameplay experience worse, as weird as that may sound.
Okay, rant over...
What do you think? Do you love Jog, do you HATE it like I do? Or do you not care at all?
Thanks for reading
