Totally agree. It still catches me off guard healing but it's very fun.My opinion is that cruiserweight was still DDR but at least it was DDR that was made more interesting than either EW’s normals or light heavyweight
5’s dance design and the WOL’s interactions with the dancing did a lot to hide the fact the raid was functionally 10,000 ways to do half room cleaves. 6 played around with the PCT motif quite well as the landscapes were executed quite well and while there was few cryptic mechanics she did a good job hiding the size of her AOE’s which at least kept you on your feet. 7 and 8 were probably the best examples we’ve gotten in the post ShB era where “mechanic faster=better” was actually decently executed as both are god awfully boring fights conceptually made rather interesting by their speed and mechanical overlap
Basically I still don’t particularly like DDR design but this is the best execution of it they have probably ever done
Not sure what this has to do with the raid but the counter for Umbral Ice and Astral fire being removed was not a bug, as it no longer expires. And if you didn't know about this happening it's not SE's fault. They told us before the patch dropped that was going to happen.
Actually in the earliest iteration of the mechanic he uses was avoided by hiding behind another add (in M7's case, a corpse of an add). It was called cursed shriek. Stone Quarry doesn't have the "gaze" telegraph because it isn't a gaze or petrifaction mechanic. It's a cursed shriek mechanic. This isn't just some ancient mechanic never seen again either it was done in P8.Right now i have no idea how the stone quarry attack works. When you look away from the boss it should not affect you that how petrification has worked so far.
I agree, this tier is a work of art! M1 is my favorite fight in a long time, Dancing Green was a phenomenal fight and I want more content like that! It's clear a lot of love and passion was put into the design of it. Every fight feels so well crafted, please keep putting this level of effort into the raids!
It's just pure fun. I love it.
I normally just stroll into stuff. Day1. Bit of medical. Bit of asylum. Spam glare. Done.
With this tier I actually need to think and it's so fun to heal again!
You miss a mechanic, your missing 60% of your hp. So I actually HAVE to heal. And UPGRADE my gear to keep on top of it.
Love it. 7.2 has delivered for me.

Something that gets missed in threads like this is the ever-growing number of people who have simply ceased to engage with this repetitive content.
I recognize some people like this kind of fight design. But naturally you're not seeing feedback from people who are sick to death of it and avoid it.
My closest friend in the game basically gave up on dungeons and trials at Origenics. She has no interest in the story so has decided to focus on the many elements of the game she does enjoy.
I've finished 7.2. I thought Recollection was complete garbage. I did M1N and that was it for me for the Arcadion series.
I don't know how bad the decline in player numbers is because nobody other than SE does. But when I don't know anybody who has any interest in dungeons, raids and trials, I figure it's a pretty bad sign.
If Cosmic exploration and the field exploration content isn't really compelling, the continued miserable fight design is going to have serious consequences.

maybe you should look at the partyfinder and see how many groups are doing hard content right now, the people who are actually playing the game don't come here and complain all the time unlike you.
Did you clear Zelenia on EX by now? i don't think so, i have 21 clears already.
Origenics is probably the worst dungeon this Expansion (so far) mainly because how gated and empty this slog is.

We also clearly value different things and have different goals. To me, clearing any fight 21 times seems like a colossal waste of time. What's your current score on CAR? 84? I mean it's great you get that much value from the game, but to me this is completely incomprehensible.
And no, why would I even attempt Zelenia EX? As I stated above, I thought the normal version was garbage.
FWIW the people who are "actually playing the game" (whatever that means) are doing plenty of complaining. The huge number of threads related to visual accessibility are a pretty clear sign something is very wrong. My point was that, for the most part, the large group of people who have stopped engaging in this content are not coming here to complain. They've either ceased caring or have left FFXIV altogether.
