If they had dps "rotation" on healer, i'm betting we will still push only 1 for it.
Nah, i will harass him active, without question if i dont see him using a dmg gcd for 10s i will kick the shit out of him
Back to the Topic xD
I never trusted his Words from the beginning, when i started the Game it was so freaking weird everyone did like this Dude is a God, it was so cringe, but glad people finally start to see he is not different then everyone else

And yet what just happened to BLM is, I would argue a drastic redesign and job change. In patch 7.2. So either he was lying and full of shit, or the job balance team decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on job changes ahead of schedule.... but actually on-schedule according to the interview, so who am I supposed to believe here?Yoshi-P publicly announced that this was a mistranslation and that he did not say that at all.

"About 3 days ago, on GamesRadar I believe. We're assuming that the person who interviewed Yoshida was different from the person who was actually editing the article. But there was mention about how we wanted to focus on evolving as an MMO, and Yoshida was talking about how we were going to enhance the gameplay, especially from 7.2 and beyond. And then, after all of that has concluded, we would look into kind of adjusting the jobs. And for some reason, the article kind of misconstrued it, and it made it sound like we would start applying drastic changes to jobs from 7.2 and beyond. And that got amplified by certain prominent Black Mage players. So, in this case itself the source was inaccurate, so I just wanted to clarify that as well."
So what they meant was they were enhancing the gameplay (aka battles) in Dawntrail, especially from 7.2 because the first tier is always easy, and then after all that is done (we know from other interviews they mean 8.0), they will look at the jobs. The article writer misinterpreted it as jobs that would change from 7.2, when they meant the battles would.
Either way, he said jobs would not be getting more simple, pretty unambiguously. Which is also....
And don't even try "Well he didn't know". He's the Producer/Director, it's his job to know.

I've been thinking about this interview a lot as well. What a joke.
I try to give the devs the benefit of the doubt more often than not but their approach to job design is inexcusable. Every patch they only further double down on removing any job mechanics that could conceivably require a single brain cell to perform successfully. As someone who was drawn to this game initially because the jobs were a little more complex than the competition, and very fun as a result, it's depressing to see everything that makes them fun and unique get sanded down to nothing.
Until I see evidence to the contrary I'm assuming this "8.0 job rework" is just going to be more simplification. Maybe they'll add a feature where your job just plays itself since choosing between the three buttons you have left is still too stressful for their target audience.

His chief job is to make money for SE. If that requires hype and deception, that's the fine text in the job description.

"Krile will have more of a role to play in this expansion"

Even if we took this completely at face value. It's quite the stretch to think the same team that has continued to dumb down jobs throughout Dawntrail is suddenly going to do a complete 180 and reintroduce measures of complexity come 8.0. Not only would that mean all the work they're currently doing would be functionally pointless in two years time, but might alienate the very demographic they seem to desperately be targeting with these changes. And that's not even considering how monumental an undertaking it would be to overhaul 20 jobs while still adding at least one more to that list.Yoshi-P publicly announced that this was a mistranslation and that he did not say that at all.

At best, a couple jobs might see their gameplay alters to be more complex while the rest languish in the queue waiting for their own ala Astro and Dragoon. The far more likely scenario is Yoshida widely exaggerating as he's been prone to do on several occasions now.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
I sure am already doing that with the current healer design, actually even more so because it is this simplistic.
Sorry but if your job has an overabundance of free healing and the most mindnumbingly dumb "dps rotation" consisting of mostly two buttons then I will absolutely judge someone not using any of it and just spamming Cure.
If dealing damage or keeping HP bars up on a healer were actually more involved than watching paint dry I might be more understanding of someone not being able to figure it out.
