    Ty SE for BLM changes!

    Hello fellow wizards! I just wanted to chime in as a new Black Mage player (as of 7.2), I am very happy with the changes. I tried black mage a few times this expansion and I just COULD NOT keep up my enochian timer or manage these procs. I'm so glad that SE has finally listened to the players and made the job more accessible and EVEN MAKING IT STRONGER (Take that artist mains). I know they nerfed leylines to 20s, but honestly it doesn't seem too bad because you never really got the full duration of it anyway (damn aoe mechanics)

    I always used to default to spamming the Ice combos because I kept running out of mana using the fire combos for some reason, so I still have a ways to go before I master all the elements, but I'm super excited to see one of my favorite jobs getting the love it deserves. How do you all feel about these changes?

    While I'm not personally thrilled with the changes, specifically to remove the timers, I am glad that you're happy with them. Happy playing, and I wish you the best of luck on your black mage adventure!

    Maybe just play one of the other 3 mage jobs so that people who want something a tiny bit more complex could play black mage... wild Idea I know.

    Oh well I guess this game is not made for me anymore, these changes have made that clear.

    That's 3 more than Machinists have, given the changes they received.

    I play BLM since SB and I love the job. But being chased by the timer became more and more exhausting. I know it's mostly psychological, but now playing BLM will be much more relaxed without the timer.
    Also doing Deep Dungeons, grinding crafting mats in the overworld, running content unsynched, doing Fates... everything other than an instanced boss fight feels like a chore on BLM.

    The shortened cast times however I don't know... BLM will have too much movement now and being the only job which was slower than the GCD was nice too.

    But overall I am happy. Wasn't this hyped for the job since ShB changes. But of course have to wait and see until the server are up again for a real opinion.

    It's possible BLM being immobile was no longer possible to really design every encounter around, I am guessing. But we will see.

    I personally found it to be too much effort compared to other jobs doing similar numbers, but sorry for those who really enjoyed the challenge. I'm not really sure what is supposed to keep the job unique at this point.

    I was playing BLM the last week (like some others were that I met while doing it), and the movement challenge was sometimes fun, and sometimes annoying (but really, that's just learning the fight as a BLM). But sometimes I'd get ARR content (including Shiva Extreme) and the ARR rotation already allows lots of movement. So in a way, these changes are bringing BLM back to its ARR roots of being able to move.

    But ARR was a long time ago and its whole identity has long been that it has to work around this conundrum. I think that rather than a lot of people maining BLM, it was just something people played sometimes to challenge themselves and that's fine really because there are a lot of jobs in the game now. But it makes all those of us who only played it occasionally feel bad for those who did main it.
