    Pictomancer Nerf

    I will miss the 7.0/7.1 Pictomancer and whilst I have never played an ultimate the high numbers I did experience were very enjoyable. I don’t play BLM but it was nice to see the job have some competition for some time. Will be interesting to see how picto plays in 7.2 as I will play it until this expansion concludes.

    PTC didnt really get nerfed that much. They shifted power from the paintings to the combos,holy ect.
    Its pretty much a deserved nerf for ultimates and upcoming fights with downtime.

    Realistically there's a less than 3% difference outside of maybe ultimates with their excessive downtime

    It’s about a 3% full uptime nerf all things considered

    The biggest changes more so come from how the PPS is changing

    New PPS of aetherhue- 224
    New PPS of reversed aetherhue- 284
    New PPS of reversed aetherhue under hyperphantasia- 356
    New creature PPS- 200 per part, 325 when factoring in mog/madeen
    New hammer PPS (assuming 2* CDH multiplier)- 271

    So hammer is actually now a loss over the reverse aetherhue combo. Rendering a single creature part is a pure DPS loss (say if the CD won’t come back up again before the fight ends) and depending on your GCD it might be a gain to shove hammer parts out of your burst window in order to put in more reversed aetherhue

    It’ll be interesting to see how this changes things, I don’t know if I love the “core” mechanic being de-emphasised for glorified filler but this is likely the best solution to its dominance in downtime fights without ruining its actual class design

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    The only thing that really sucks for us is the fact that hammer is a DPS loss, if numbers were tweaked in a different way the same effect could have been achieved without us needing to change our rotation.

    PCT Lounge on Balance only had to go into moderated mode because of people coming to shit talk picto while calculations on new rotation were being done.

    It's likely going to be the highest DPS caster just feel worse to play.

    The nerf is that its exponential damage during the 2 minute window from other jobs buffs (especially dancer) go down quite a bit to put it more in line with the other jobs. In return, they shifted potency to combo damage that you do the rest of the 1 minutes and 40 seconds so that its solo dps stays about the same

    Picto didn't get much of a nerf if you keep your GCD rolling and keep your paint cycle in the right place during burst window. Make sure to have 2 Comet in blacks and make sure to have yellow and Magenta paint. You should already be doing that, but it's just more important now.

    Going to be honest it looks like a bigger nerf than expected.

    As standard combo only gaining 900, compared to a 2200 potency drop in motifs/hammer/mog+madeen is still a 1000~ potency drop to account for.

    I personally just really liked having so many big numbers. It felt good. Having 300 less potency on every big hitting skill and getting 40 back here and there just feels bleh.
