Only good thing about BLM design is the removal of timers. The devs have the ability to truly expand and improve the class without the timers constraining design. But it's painfully clear the encounter designers don't want to allow for fun and interesting class design, like casters being able to sit still, cast, greedcast aoes, and otherwise enjoy preplanning fights out. I'd kill for the devs to just carbon copy stormblood fights right about now and add those with the arcadian trapping than do anything 'new.'
Done the calculation? as the ones I have seen on The Balance says this might be a mere 1% buff at best. And BLMs was already 5%+ behind
This sounds about right, but because of the massive buff to flare star, the burst window can now have 2 stars and 3 xenos in it for rather large DPS gains, potentially boosting it above a raw 1-3% buff due to multiplicative buff stacking if you align things correctly.
Honestly, the more I look into BLM's burst and 7.2 as a whole, the more I believe they're likely going to adjust how BLM bursts between 7.2 and 8.0. The level for optimization available is kind of insane, and is leading me to believe, in part, that the 7.2 rework to BLM is closer to Monk's 5.4 rework in practice. A quick and dirty realignment to fix a class losing players that will be bolstered with a rework later. I just wish the devs didn't have to kill caster gameplay off just to give BLM literally any attention.
Again, agree with your sentiment, disagree with your execution.
Also, title made me think "is this an out of season april fools?"
