Everything reset

As of last night, at some point, my game completely reset everything. My HUD layouts, saved gear sets, all of it reset as if it were brand new. I even got the ARR login on the first round of logging in, as if I were brand new to the game.
I'm unsure if this was done before the upcoming patch this evening, but I have never had this occur so drastically.
Nothing else is off or gone; it's just that all my settings have been completely reset.
Before logging out last night, the only issue I had was that screenshots kept saying they failed. But that was it. (and now they are just fine)

May your My Documents are synced via OneDrive and OneDrive has reset them back to another state or delete them. You can deativate the sync for your Documents to prevent this or exclude the folder.

I have similar problem, even though my binds, hotbars, gear sets etc. persists, the game resets most graphical settings on boot up. I have to turn it back from fullscreen to windowed every single time and tweak the shadows etc.

Along the lines of DarkArvan.

It sounds like the local directory where the data is stored by default (C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV may have gotten corrupted, possibly along with part of your user profile. Screenshots are by default saved here as well.

If you have OneDrive, then this directory would be synced and if MS had one of it's infamous hiccups then the data may have gotten borked. If this happened, since the cloud is 'never' the source of the issue, OneDrive will just resync the cloud copy back down to local. The OS can correct minor profile errors automatically as well as on startup, but if something got out of sync, of corrupted, then sadly you are back at square one.

If you have OneDrive I would definitely look into excluding the FF14 directory from the Sync, and once you get the settings back to where you want them, make a backup copy of the directory so you at least have a starting point should they be lost again.
