I have the same problem. I hope this is fixed in 2.o! I'm using the Plug and Play kit to keep mine on so its basicly a wired wireless controller :/

Ok, here is the very real (albeit, crap sounding) solution: unplug it from the USB 2.0 port and use a standard one. The problem has to do with the power supply. I'm not going to bother explaining it but just trust me.

THe issue is the games programming. It doesn't synch aback correctly. It's not an issue with a majority of windows games, and not at all in windows live games. Hopefully they will have it resolved in 2.0. Loose synch in bluetooth on the ps3 controller and yo uface the same issue.

Get a wired Xbox controller. 200% better.
Thank you.

Same problem... I've been using a wired controller after my Logitech one died. Got the 360 wireless today... big mistake =_=
THe weird thing is that I could disconnect my previous USB controller and reconnect it without problems, as long as I reconnect it in the same USB port.
Edit : I think I have an idea but I'm not sure if such a software exist. I know some softwares let you emulator a XBOX 360 controller from any kind of controller (x360ce). But x360ce doesn't seem to work... what I want to try is to map the x360 controller into a virtual controller, and use that virtual controller into FF XIV. I don't have time right now, but I'll try to search more information about this tonight

These alternative drivers fixed the re-connect problem for me on Win 7 64-bits : x360wc
I still have to figure out how to set it up properly... (have problems with dead zones on the right analog stick)

Maybe that would work for me, but I don't have the charging cable.
In the end I decided it wasn't worth buying a controller only to do weird stuff to get it to work properly. I'll bring it back to the store tomorrow morning.
Instead I took some time to install Motioninjoy and use one of my PS3 controller. Works better, can re-sync it, connect it, disconnect it, it will still work in the game! (and I prefer the PS3 design)
