We're getting new dyes in 7.21?

There's a summary of the last live letter in the ffxiv subreddit and I think it mentioned something along the lines of metallic cobalt green and metallic ruby red but I could be wrong
I'm not expecting much, but having better purples would be nice personally
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
Sorry but female Hrothgar are following the same hairstyle cycle as male Hrothgar in Endwalker. 6.2 was the ear fix and female Hrothgar didn't need that. So instead of breaking the cycle they just didn't work on them this patch.
So out of "fairness" for doing nothing with female Hrothgar they also didn't work on Viera or male Hrothgar's past hairstyles for 7.2.
That said they do have a rule or a system in place so if any new hairstyles are added in say patch 7.25 or something. Everyone will get them. However, the next batch of past hairstyles won't be until 7.3 unless they change up their formula.
With Sunken Temple getting duty support, I can only imagine that the bosses will lose any remaining unique mechanics and just turn into a punching bag.
The patch notes don’t specify what they changed but do confirm they’ve changed all three boss fights. Obviously we won’t know until we get in there after the patch, but I would guess doom, the heart, and the mythril rod mechanics are gone from each fight respectively and replaced with something that requires less strategizing to accommodate the AI.
I was once a staunch supporter of the Trust system and Duty Support. And sometimes I still have some appreciation for it: when you have kids and things are unpredictable in life it can be good to be able to step away without inconveniencing others. And Trusts really helped me get over my fear of grouping up with people to run content as I gained competency with jobs and mechanics.
But the more time passes, the less sure I am that the addition of Trusts was a good idea. It increasingly looks like it has been proliferated at the cost of interesting mechanics that require thought and strategy, and that’s disappointing to me.

I would care about ARR dungeons getting the unique stuff took away if ARR content wasn't massively boring due to how level synch works and how interactive jobs feel at that level. Though it's sad that they can't just keep dungeons how they are and let duty supports have easy versions of these dungeons for people who want them.
Theirs also the fact that I feel like optional content shouldn't even have duty support... It's a MMO not a solo player RPG.
They really should keep Doom at the very least![]()
I wish they would go differently about duty support than neutering content for everyone.
For example, instead of removing Estinien from the Nidhogg dungeon boss, make him immortal in Trust if the player doesn't assume the healer role, so that Estinien doesn't fall victim to the janky healer AI. Since trust is often used to alleviate the gameplay burden and lower the pressure to perform I suppose most players who use trust will not be (too) opposed to these kinds of fail-safe mechanics. And even if some may dislike them, keeping a unique element but making it unfailable for some players in very distinct cirumstances seems like a fairer price for the sake of the community as a whole than just taking it away for all.
Same for Quarn. How about removing Doom only when you do trust? Wouldn't that be a simple "on/off" toggle in terms of programming that just disables a boss skill for that mode?
I'd rather just make Trust NPCs immune to certain mechanics (and situationally the player if you are dependant on an AI removing something from you) so that the relative complexity for full player groups doesn't have to suffer. I think this should take precedence in an MMO. After all trust runs will be dull too with those dumbed down dungeons. So in terms of fun it would be pretty much the same outcome for trust users if the uniqueness stayed with some crutches for the AI.
