It's literally in the preliminary patch notes that they've addressed it and people will need to be re-added to blacklist.

I'd expect the fix to actually work given how much heat they took for it, information on how it worked on a technical level paired with the fact that they actually waited for a large change to implement it made it require something that actually take time.

The only thing stalker plugin did that cannot already be done is connect alts together and retainer linking, the rest of its been possible for years just no-one scummy enough to make one.
To solve the name history, location history, character look history, I cant remember what else in video they'd need to kill mods altogether.

No I'm a software developer who read the code and the fix is actually not hard just feature was implemented lazily.

So, because the fix Square hoped would work did not work. Why then are you attacking that guy? Was anything he said wrong, other than Square not managing to actually fix the issue?

Honestly this isn't much of an attack, I'm genuinely wondering what they're thinking rn considering the last few pages and the state of the whole privacy problem.

I generally dislike ERP and think most ERPers are guys who basically turned gay in FFXIV because they couldn’t get laid in real life. It’s not that I have anything against LGBTQ people. I just find it annoying when straight guys who’ve given up on real-life intimacy turn to ERP with what they know deep inside is another dude. It feels like part of a strange subculture that, imo, is overall bad for the game.

BUT, I also am wary of censoring people for the sake of the vanishingly small amount of children that play this game. And frankly, to the parents who let their younger than 13 kids play this game...thats on you. Either supervise them while they play or introduce the game to them at a later age.
