On topic -- I doubt this is actually a spoiler, but just in case:

It almost seems like a shame that our last battle before 2.0 will inevitably be a losing one. I assume they're actually going to call something forth that will cause serious damage to the world. Wonder how I'm going to feel about that.

Well...

It seemed to me that something for us to kill is already out there somewhere waiting for us to kill is, as Louisoix said for us to meet up with him at the 'summoning grounds' after we had slain the monstrosity that spawned amidst the chaos. My first thought was Atomos, but you can't slay him, and his mobs are hardly something that really needs slaying before we can summon the twelve. I suppose this is probably something that will come up in the next patch, though it seems odd for them to mention it already.

In addition, Louisoix made a foreboding statement which furthers my belief that he'll die before 2.0.

So based on the description of the Living On A Prayer achievement, we can see that it was the final quest in the scenario. But surely this is still not the end...

Will we see live events and still further changes in the coming lettered patches?

I would say Living on a prayer is basically a two part quest, because we aren't done yet, we have one more job to do.
