    Oh, they buffed AST in FL!

    The BH points for a KO 10 --> 8, for assists, 2 --> 4.

    Unless one is very careless, even a solo, semi-competent AST (me) will be getting BH5 every match.

    Similarly any job that relies primarily on a powerful AoE.

    Overall, isn't this going to make the ranged meta even more ranged?

    In my opinion it's more jobs like SCH especially that will benefit. AST has a pretty good solo kill potential on its own. A lot of melees have good AoE to leech assists too so I'm not sure it will influence the meta much?
    If anything I'm happy they're doing this, because getting kills, let's honest, in every pvp mode, is unreliable and can be a big lottery (even on one hit KO moves). It's a team game first and foremost.

    You may be right. My experience when I play it is 0/0/25 is a pretty poor outing, but now that hits BH5. So I think BH will be acquired more rapidly, at least by players who actually engage the enemy.

    Might discourage people playing SAM which would be a plus.

    You're quite right KOs seem almost random, so this makes more sense.

    It's hard to say how it will balance out on paper, but theoretically it's a buff to every support job. Those eating better will be bards, scholars & ... dark knights.


    To get 100BH you will need 25 assists now, as opposed to 50. Which is a huge change, and strong teams will be able to be all 100BH after one engagement.

    I actually thought they might buff assists in order to take pressure away from playing kill jobs to support jobs, but I didn't think they would straight up double the points for assists. Seems like a lot, but with netcode as it is kills can be somewhat a lottery. I reserve judgement whether or not it will be bad or not until I play.

    My guess is it's going to further magnify skill/commitment differences. And make the first couple of engagements more important.

    I think the other way to think about it is how much kills are worth proportionally to assists.

    If currently 1 kill = 5 assists.
    Under new changes 1 kill = 2 assists.

    That's quite a big a change.
    I personally thought they needed to buff assists slightly because BH gain on "support" jobs was slow, maybe 1 kill = 3/4 assists; but I didn't think they needed to nerf the Battle High gain from kills.

    Are they saying that 1 kill is now worth less BH than before? Why is that? Is it easier to gain kills than before? Is this to balance the new incoming role actions that we don't know everything about?

    Jobs like RPR, WAR, and GNB will probably be eating good with the assist buffs too. I think the return of fetterward will promote more aggressive mDPS play as well, similar to back in ShB. While I am also a little dubious of the BH changes, I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

    Pretty sure just based on typical burst damage that however it shakes out it'll mean that BH5 grows faster. Like any death that includes one or more assists now gives more BH points total to the aggressing team. So the only situation in which less BH is awarded is for solo kills, which I think are relatively rare.
