(Prelim Patch Notes) How to conserve Names and Notes on Black/Mute lists?

Not sure which is the right section for this, apologies.

Taken from the Prelim Patch Notes for 7.2:
The following adjustments have been made to the Blacklist:

In accordance with measures introduced in Patch 7.2 to help prevent the identification of account IDs that are not displayed in-game, relevant saved client data has been reset.
    [...]
Although information registered on the Blacklist has been preserved, characters blacklisted prior to Patch 7.2 will be displayed as "(Character name could not be retrieved.)" and any saved comments will be deleted.
    * As a result, players will no longer be able to distinguish between characters blacklisted prior to Patch 7.2.

To have blacklisted character names display once more, please consider removing relevant characters from the Blacklist and registering them again. We apologize for the inconvenience.
    (emphasis mine)

Double checking the FAQ on the blacklist, mutelist and friend list we need someone on the blacklist to send a message in the chat log to remove them. Likewise /blacklist add <t> doesn't seem work without being able to target someone (unlike /tell for instance).

So in that case, is there any way to preserve the player name and notes of people on the denylist or mute list? Am I understanding this part incorrectly?

They said that the people on the blacklist will remain there, you just won't know their names. You can take a screenshot of the names so that you remember, though. Press Print Screen, then open Paint in the windows Search bar, then CTRL+V, then CTRL+S.

To register someone on the blacklist, you can:
    • Visit their world, Player Search them, then right-click and Add to Blacklist.
    • Right-click them in the chat window.
    • Right-click them in the battle activity window if you saw them fight things.
    • Right-click them in the Contact window (people you recently partied with) and Add to Blacklist.
You can also go to the lodestone and search for them there and block them - although it's unclear, it suggests it may also block them in the game and vice versa, but I haven't tried myself.

Fair options around, these two were new to me so thanks for the tips! I'll note that it requires the subject of the deny / mute to be online when you're using Player Search, but at least that overcomes the hurdle that you'd need to see their messages in log.
Also, not everyone has their characters visible on The Loadstone, but that's a decent fallback which should work for a sufficient number of people. (Tested via an alt of a friend).

Additionally neither of these methods work for the Mute list, but it is what it is I suppose.
