I recall hearing the bonus exp on the Azeyma Earrings apply when synced to lv90 content and spamming Aglaia was one of the fastest ways to level from lv90 and up, so it's probably in response to that
This is what they choose to spend time debating BTW. Not fixing the stalking plugin, not fixing Hrothgar/Viera hats, not fixing the graphic eye strain.
As someone who used Aglaia for leveling all of my jobs after the MSQ in Dawntrail in like a week or two,i have no horse in this race anymore but all i can say is that: "L change"
I dont know why they are so hellbent on funneling everyone and their mother to dogwater lvl50 raids and forcing everyone to rely on daily bonuses...well i do know why they are doing it, but its still tonedeaf.
With Aglaia, we at least had an efficient way to level up jobs we dont really like in a relatively high level, stress free environment where we could get some idea how the job actually works past level 50 and have buttons to press beyond 1-2-3.
I mean sure we can still do that for less xp, but the more jobs we have in each expansion, leveling all of them up takes longer and longer.
Aglaia was a nice way to somewhat "tip the scales" in our favor for once, pun definitely intended.
Pro hint, instead of messing with stuff nobody wanted to change, remove MSQ roulette since it erves no purpose anymore and relocate that xp into 50-60-70-80-90 roulette where some dungeons really do struggle with ques. But nah robbing everyone of that peak lvl50 combat and realm reborn cutscene quality on a daily basis is unacceptable.
dont worry, you can spam fates in the new eureka zone as best leveling method soon enough
No you won't lol, it's going to require level cap jobs like Eureka.
They only set Bozja up for leveling because ShB didn't get a Deep Dungeon, everyone is talking about how "oh they want people to actually do alliance roulette" (which - good! If you want more variety in alliance roulette, have you considered maybe unlocking raids other than Crystal Tower and level 90 Crystal Tower btw?) but the real thing they are obsessed with pushing people towards as a source of leveling is Deep Dungeons. I'll never understand why that seems to be the one corner of side content that gets pushed so hard...
Not really too baffling at all, there is a new Deep Dungeon coming in 7.3, gotta keep ppl from hitting 100 too fast on alt jobs or it will be as dead as the last one. And you know SE, they want you to play how they want you to play, not how you want to.
The developers want to keep leveling dungeons and other Dawntrail content populated one year after the expansion’s release, yet they have not given the community any new leveling methods.
Following the Stormblood timeline, we should be at the .25 patch by now. Instead, we have to wait an extra month to unlock Savage loot and two extra months to get an Operations Field.
At this pace, we’ll be waiting five extra months for the deep dungeon. But in their heads, as long as everything follows FFXIV’s strict formula and releases in the same patch, they think players aren’t actually waiting longer.
Bit late to stop people from capping their alt jobs after *looks at calendar* 9 months.
The cynic in me definitely thinks the devs just want players to need more days (ie. more months of subscription) to level all the jobs they want to play. The nerf to lv 90 alliance raid exp and buff to the roulette means the time-gated way of doing it is relatively better now.
But on the surface, I think letting dps players keep doing alliance raids for exp is a good idea. Otherwise the best option is to keep queuing for dungeons, which means dps queues will be worse for them. Perhaps it should be taken even further and the devs should consider further increasing the default exp from the lv 60/70/80 alliance raids as well. This would made dungeon queues less bad for dps for levels 61-89, and also help make alliance raid roulette not just be Crystal Tower roulette so often, and also generally seems nice to me because it’s a good way to level up jobs that has us actually playing the game with others.
Maybe an argument can be made that the good exp from alliance raid spamming also takes healers out of dungeon queues? But a solution to that would be to try having the time:experience ratio for alliance raids spamming to still be good, but just not as good as dungeon spamming.
