PSA: Save glamour dresser space w/ Outfit Glamours

I don't know if many people know about this, but it was introduced recently with patch 7.1, but seems to have slipped under the radar, at least for me. I only discovered it when I accidentally stumbled upon it when messing around with the glamour dresser.

Basically, when you have matching sets, you can store the entire set using only a single slot in the dresser, rather than a slot for each piece. Currently, only some sets are supported, mainly special MSQ rewards, store sets, PvP (Wolf mark) sets, etc.

When you access the dresser to store items, outfit-eligible items will have a special button next to them in the list. Click the button to show all the items you need. If you have the full set, follow the instructions to store it as an outfit. You will then be able to use each piece individually as glamour; you can still mix and match like you did before.

If you already have a full set of outfit-eligible gear stored individually in the dresser, but want to store it as an outfit, you will have to remove each item and re-insert it as an outfit, costing a glamour prism for each item in the set.

A full explanation can be found in the in-game help. Click the "?" button in the Glamour Dresser window, and all Outfit Glamour related entries will be in "The Glamour Dresser" section.

It has its uses certainly, unless the piece you're storing is also dyed in something expensive like pure whites/jet blacks/pastel pink.

We Need more outfits it's a half done system. They screwed up the makai sets the dyeable version won't make an outfit but the regular sets do...

Even then, if you've only got one or two pieces with fancy dyes but have the full set stored in the dresser, you can still gain some extra spaces by buying a second copy of the fancy-dyed piece and using the undyed one to complete the set.

They were very clear that it's a half-done work in progress and that they had started with a focus on level 1 glamour sets. That's why the non-dyeable level 1 Makai gear is currently included but the level 60 version is not.

Yeah artifact gear currently occupies more than 600 slots in my dresser for the ones that cannot be safely recovered from calamity salvager or AF armorers. DoH/DoL being especially dire for that because none of it is. I'd be surprised if it's not the next in line for that system though.

I'm waiting for a button that outfitifys all my already stored pieces.

And I'll probably have to recollect all the nier gloves that had the same basic look as 2Bs since I think I junked them.

And they invested how many hours into that already crappy Glamour system instead of making the same thing WoW has, and stopp saying " it is not possible because blahblah..."

I want all my glams I earn or craft or buy to be added to a permanent collection so you can retrieve them whenever you want, I'm ok if it has to cost maybe a few Tomes of Poetics too. This would free up hundreds of slots in my retainers and the same should be done for housing furnishings where you only need one like Island Sanctuary does.

No you don't understand SE needs to sell those virtual $5 trees and $10 poster sets to survive and fund FFXIV future expansions.
