I think we should split PC From Console

That ain't an excuse in 2025, Like . . Sorry you can't run it but maybe you should've thought about that when you chose a console. If you can't afford a 200$ walmart PC to play XIV you got other problems. And yes, At this point the average walmart PC is stronger than PS4 will ever be.

PS4 Needs to be sunset or given their own special space for special little boys.

A lot of the folks I play with use console, so it may be with some bias that I say it, but I don't feel like splitting the community to that degree is the best option. Perhaps, as which happens with older PCs, as time goes on the outdated consoles might get left behind, but I wouldn't want to see them dropped or split-off entirely. If/when PS4 support does end, I hope they'll offer those players an update option to PS5 rather than having to re-buy the whole game they already own.

I hear what you're saying about content being simplified, and I don't think 'accessibility' is the real reason unfortunately. Actual attempts to address accessibility issues have been steadily ignored, even though we've followed the directions we were given for how to report the problems. Content and classes being simplified? Yeah, for sure. Is it out of a concern for accessibility? At this point I seriously doubt it.

Yes yoshi p helped PS5 gamers with free update of final fantasy 14 game. If you have the game on ps4 you have same game on ps5.

If i remember correctly just before Dawntrail dropped it was stated it would most likely be the last expansion on PS4

Do these folks realize how large of a playerbase there is on PS4/PS5? I've played on console my entire 11 years, from PS4 to PS5.

They already dropped PS3 in the past and have hinted multiple times that the Ps4 will eventually follow suit. They will just give the ps5 version for free for a limited time.

Takes like these are always hilarious to see when you stop to think about it for even a second. Consoles have static specs that developers can work around as opposed to the massive differences between high end PCs and what some folks try to get away running games on that make even a PS4 look glamorous by comparison. Then you can look back at XIV's history and see the time they made a game without taking the PS3 into account and find that good PCs at that time of release struggled to even handle the games cutscenes.

Then to look further, support for older consoles are eventually dropped for better resources. I speculate that PS4 support has only lasted as long as it has due to the shitshow of PS5's release and how long it took for gamers to actually get a hold of a console of their own rather than it being hoarded by scalpers.
