You're not going to get the player base to agree on what constitutes decent. The members of my Free Company don't even agree about the state of the game. A few of us are stepping away from the game pending changes that may make it enjoyable to us again. Others are happy with it as is and continue to log in to play as usual.

Who do you think SE is more likely to listen to?

Continuing to pay for game time isn't going to cause the game to change to your satisfaction when other players are satisfied with how it currently is.

In the long run, it's your money. You can keep spending on something you don't feel is decent, or you can spend it elsewhere on something that does.

Just remember that by continuing to pay for a product you don't like, you're enabling the business to continue turning out the product as is. That's true of any product from any company, not just FFXIV from SE.

Same thing that happens when the player base thinks the story is good.

Some quit playing. Others continue to play.

The player base is not a hive mind. There are different opinions about what is good and what is bad.

Don't worry about what others are thinking. If you think the game is good, keep playing. If you think the game is bad, quit playing. It could be you're not part of the demographic they want to please with current game design so continuing to stay subbed to complain about it is just throwing your money away.

Yeah, I do like my 200 hours of "look for the purple circle in the wilderness and kill whatever no-mechanic meat bag that comes out of it". F Elden Ring and other high-quality SP games, FF14 is the goat.

While other people's tastes, be they good or bad, should not change the way we enjoy a videogame, this does not mean we should ignore them.

If the majority of the playerbase dislikes a subscription based game to the point of quitting, that means your experiences will be affected. A company needs money to make a good product, which means they need people to pay for it.

The reality we have is, FFXIV was in an uptrend until Endwalker, and started a downtrend in Dawntrail, which coincides with the downfall of the MSQ. And whether a game is making more or less money than expected is not the same thing.

My problem with the content ingame is that the content we get feels SO RECYCLED. Even when Dawntrail came out! A lot of the gear is just recolors from older expansions! A lot of the "new" sets too are just baggy cyberpunk-future clothing I don't enjoy. I was excited for the dual dye channels! But the second dye channel is seriously disappointing on a lot of clothes, (Like changing the color of buttons or threads that are hardly noticeable...) A lot of battle content is more of the same! Duties, trials, raids, none of them feel new to me! It's the same old content with a new look to it. If you're a new player I get it! That's fun for you! But it's not for me. It feels that way with almost everything being brought in!

I feel like I'm walking on thin ice if I tell anyone I'm not satisfied with the game and I'll just get gaslit and made fun of, and told that my problems with the game are just because I haven't engaged with content I don't really enjoy. (Like fishing! It's so boring! I don't like it! But the fact I haven't done any fishing and haven't collected every fish in the game seems to be reason enough to dismiss any problems I have! Ugh!) The players still left on this game feel very intolerant of opinions that are generally negative of the game, and I feel like I can't freely voice my thoughts anymore. I just want a *little* more effort put into the game! We as players I believe have given Yoshi P and his team a lot of patience with things like the length between patches, jobs, ect! But I don't feel like our time is being respected anymore. I made a lot of memories on this game, I made a lot of friends on this game, and it's sad for me to log in every day and see the days increase since their last login. I really hope they can correct course in the future.

    And that's it.
The alliance raid isn't 2 hours, it's 20 minutes, really boring, with no replayability, and no reason/rewards to make it relatable if you don't 'need'/'want' the gear. (And there are food reasons not to)
The side quests are just bad content for many. Complete not content. They are not 'playable', they 'turn the page' stories... with no story.
Chaotic: UN-fun. Eventually you get bored of not being able to make progress. And the 4 hours you invested in doing nothing for 50 mins play time was NOT fun overall. (It's not Netflixs job to make XIV 'fun'. (I don't enjoy sitting at my desk to watch television). Do fates? Not fun anymore. Sanctuary, not fun to anyone worth mentioning. 10 hours for a mount.
I've put well over 20 hours into chaotic I've not seen P3. (Yes I do count sitting in PF, that's how much of my time, I've 'spent') And frankly I was bored of tieing up my pc filling pf. Sometimes with nothing to show for a whole evening. Not even getting it to pop.
10 hours of 'fun content' for the mount?! On what freaking planet?
When Yoshi expressed satisfaction that 'more people than expected played Chaotic', i want surprised. Tone deaf.
Why is this even talking about ultimates?
There does need to be enough 'good' content for all the different players. For many players there is no good content now, when there used to be. (I know that for a fact, say it's I untrue if you want to, I don't give a F)

I can't tell if this post is genuine in its last paragraph of just lazily crafted bait.
(For the love of... will someone please take my forum access away! I've been unsubbed forever now surely,!)

If we only had to pay for the expansion i think people would be a lot nicer, But the fact you have to give them subscription money each month ontop of retainer money while they sit there wanking it to Elden Ring Waifu is not acceptable.

    "Just go play another game"

No, JUST DO YOUR JOB YOU HACK

Asking for Expansion, sub, And retainer money then telling people to stay subbed while they play something else and wait for you to do the job you're paid for is a joke. Don't ask for a sub if you can't put the effort to reflect it in.

SE & Yoshi forgets, You are the customer, Not an employee, Not a tenant, A CUSTOMER

AND SE AND YOSHI ARE PROVIDING A SERVICE

This your first time talking to Jojoya?

Don't bother lmao, they are the queen of concern trolling

They have 9060 posts on these forums and all of them are "actually some people like the game right now btw, so yeah it's actually not black and white!!"

They'll pull you into the orbit of this pointless discussion about how some people like X while others don't like X. The moment you get trapped in that orbit not even an escape velocity of c will allow you to go back to actual substantive critiques people were talking about earlier.

If that doesn't work, their next tactic is to laser focus on one single word or term you're using and get everyone to debate things like "what does it actually mean for there to be "content"".

Are you trying to play dumb or is this genuine?
You're the one who nitpick a word even though everyone knows what it means in the context of this conversation.

53 is a greater portion of 100 than 47 because 53 is what's known as a "larger number". Happy to have cleared this up for you
