It's easy to attack that things only take 10 minutes, but it helps to understand that a pick-and-mix is SE's design goal to so that people can stop every 10-20 minutes and eat/hydrate:

PvP matches take 5-10 minutes but if you are into PvP, why do they feel so much meatier than a 15 minute dungeon? So much so that for a time I only login to do Feast matches and nothing else.

It's fine for content to be delivered in short bursts. But there is a crucial ingredient missing that makes the same 15-minute dungeon so dreadful to play through in a roulette and yet makes PvP so engaging.

To the OP:

Right now I wouldn't even sub (on my main) if there are 40 expert dungeons, 30 alliance raids, 10 beast tribes, 20 role quests etc... I would not even pay $3. Maybe not even $2. Why would I? I've already done the same shit all the way from 9 years ago.

In 7.3 they will release a new deep dungeon. But will I treat it as a $13 content? No, because I've already done PotD, HoH and EO. Why would I pay $13 to do it again? Death Stranding 2 is coming out in the summer and that seems like a far better use of my money and my time.

I was planning to stay subbed on my main and just be an MSQ andy this expansion but even that is out of the question with how shit the story and the writing are. So now even the MSQ is not worth subbing for.

You might hate hearing this but there is a reason player count dropped off a cliff. Clearly there is a reason more and more people are finding that each patch does not justify even one month's worth of subscription.

Even some visual novels try to involve some kind of engagement with the player--player choice and multiple endings being some of the more common. This is still "gameplay" insomuch that it provides opportunity for the player to be an active participant--something that is ultimately missing in FF14's story atm.

Even if we're charitable and say you don't have to be subbed for the entire patch, it's still 3 months of sub because they intentionally stagger the content out and space it by, conveniently, four weeks lmao.

And I've included dailies because I personally do them even after all these years, and everyone I know do them too. If you wanna include a small percentage of people who doesn't do dailies, then we're including the ultimate and reclears to the calculation, which adds hundreds of hours.

Look, I’m not trying to defend the game. I’m not happy with the direction it’s taking and I've made other threads about it before. The thing is I’m so tired of the constant, non-constructive yapping. Have you ever thought maybe that’s why the devs stopped listening to us? You probably didn't. But you've made multiple posts about the game dying because of blm changes, without even playing it first. Please tell me, how is it possible for the timer to run out if you know exactly how many gcds you can put in that window? Have you thought, maybe it will be more fun to play if you don't need to stress out about something that will probably never happen? Or maybe it will create some new non-standard rotations? No, you didn't think about it, you're too scared of any changes even though you ask for them. Does the box price of the expansion not count here? You are paying 40 dollars upfront just to access the new quests, raids, etc. on top of the monthly subscription.

I would much rather purchase elden ring knowing I am getting a well crafted 60 hour experience than to purchase a 40 dollar expansion and pay 15 dollars for a one month subscription each month for what you say is 27.5 hours of content each month, especially when most of the content in the game right now is a reskin of something we have had before.

Its extremely hard to be constructive when the devs don't listen or communicate with players well at all.
