Hey everyone! guess i should make this thread so we can discuss The Raven, Nevermore fight.

As lodestone mentioned, you need to do the prayer quest from the old geezer in gridania. Just talk to him, choose next to advance a page, and choose said quest to go on an epic pilgramage to the 13 shrines.

Doing so unlocks The Raven, Nevermore fight, and you can get a Dalamund horn from acheivements for clearing the prequest. Talk to the Serpent private at the Gridanian airship dock, opposite side from the one you talk to for To Kill a Raven fight.


Got to try this fight once so far... Notes on what I saw:

He immediately went into his crouching mode and started summoning meteors. Had ridiculous defense, just like before megaflare... critical howling fist did only 280 damage. After a minute he.... megaflared for 5370 damage. (we had stoneskin up. <_<) no meteors hit the floor either... ouch.

My guess? We need lunar curtains to buffer ourselves from the effect of megaflare. Now where to find the deaspected clusters...

No joke, I burst out laughing reading this. This is pretty awesome. I hope I get a shot at this before ARR. That being said, the sad truth of the matter is I am not very good, so chances are I will never get a chance to try it out. I shall keep tuned into this thread though and wish you all great luck.

Same experience here. Does the Garuda-style "throw up every buff you have" strategy do anything to mitigate it or are we thinking Lunar Curtains are the way and the light?

I know they drop overaspected, not sure on deaspected though. A friend suggested maybe using an overaspected drains it of its power and turns it into a deaspected though.

I don't see how it would be possible to survive even with buffs. lol

PLD with sentinel cut the damage to ~2k.
Not a viable survival plan. We're looking into finding clusters, thinking it drops from Atomos.
Looking into it now.

I suspect that being opposite of crystals, and clusters as well, they dont drop from atomos mobs at all. Instead i suspect they drop off garleans. Didn't old gramps mention the VII division being somewhere in mor dhona? Perhaps they really are there and they hold the clusters we need?

Come to think of it, perhaps any normal mob drops it in mor dhona, as i remember another quest npc a while back mentioning how many crystals were losing their aspect there, due to a strange influence (dalamund.)

Started another post in QUESTS, but we will continue to post here. Have not yet received any clusters from the mobs with Atomos, just over aspected crystals. Will keep trying also so that we can obtain the lunar curtains.

Overaspected Clusters are consumable items, are they not? Perhaps they turn into Deaspected once used?
