This part makes me think you haven’t played WoW in a while. There really aren’t any super painful mandatory grinds these days. Sure you could grind out reps or similar things but those are just cosmetic grinds, the same as FF14. The days of grinding out AP or farming legendary drops are long gone and have been for over an expansion now.

When Housing eventually comes out, I am sure it will be the coolest thing on this planet. But will it last? That I will certainly not bet on it.

I assure you it's just as grindy as before if not more. WoW is ALL about the Grind. In TWW, the Increased Crest Requirements for Gear Upgrades, Higher Mythic+ Dungeon Requirements and Limited Renown Progressions are the first few that come to mind. And when it comes to PvP (where I spent most of my time in), the Conquest (and Honor) Point grinds are LONG and Hard, especially when the space is completely overrun by Premade groups running all day and night, your chance of making any progress there is less than 5% - Painfully slow. Here is a clip of our group (a Premade) completely overwhelm the Horde opponent. Now, imagine the winning chance of players on their side, and this is what players had to put up now, all day. https://youtu.be/hzZCVTdHGKA

it's always the recent wow andies that are the biggest white knights for this game. they've plagued ff14 for an xpac in shb causing all the festering issues to go unnoticed and suppressed, but it seems like this is just the norm for them. they hate wow so much they can't help but lick ff14's boots.

Perhaps you should learn to think and view the situation objectively. You don't want to be that die-hard WoW supporter who would uphold Blizz no matter how bad they got treated in return, assume you aren't really one of them here trying to smear FF14? Just to be clear, I've yet to form any opinion on FF14, and this is only my second day. As for my opinion on WoW, just to state it clearly, I still enjoy the WoW experience, specifically the PvP content - I just don't want to support Blizz's current practice anymore.

Certainly, as pointed out by many FF14 is far from perfect with its own share of problems and you all have the right to want it to be better. However, if people are expecting the situation over there in WoW to be better, that would be risky - you just won't realise the seriousness until you are in it.

Wow would run leaps around ffxiv IF they fixed the terrible mess they did with world pvp (but at this point the only possible fix would be to allow free for all pvp everywhere so it's never going to happen), but as it is now, it doesn't. FFXIV at least has a good story. (gameplay is meh in both games because for some reason everyone is obsessed with PvE and Co-op but also can't design any interesting gameplay around it)

Re: wuk lamat after replaying DT I can confirm that my initial impression that she was fine hold true. Perhaps that's because I form my own opinions rather than listening to the memes and hopping on the hate bandwagon.

Don't waste your time. This is an alt of a player who spends their days on the forums using emotional appeal and insults to anyone who disagrees with them.

For me, the problem with the 'current' world pvp design in WoW is the lack of persistent effect and meaningful purposes. But I certainly LOVE pvp in WoW, and my all-time fav will always be the original Ashran in WoD.

In fact, this is the reason my friends and I are trying FF14. So far it's quite refreshing!

I see and thanks for pointing it out. I am still learning how this forum works and there is a lot to pick up

The problem with world pvp currently in wow is that the factions are comically unbalanced. And that's because of the whole warmode deal, where they made it easy to enable/disable world pvp (instead of having to transfer to a different server), so they had to put in some incentive to get people to do world pvp, in the form of those reward crates that are dropepd randomly in the world. But mmo players being mmo players, over time people just switched to the faction that had more people so that they could get the rewards without the hassle of actually doing the pvp.
In other words, world pvp was ok and the bumbling designers had to try and touch it and they ruined it.
There is no undoing the faction unbalance now, which means that there is no fixing world pvp in wow. Unless they turn it into a free for all where factions don't matter, but they'll never do that.
