    Sadly this is just another step on their mission to make every job completely mindless so all the people who hate it will play it. To all the people who like the job as it was? We can just go kick rocks apparently.

    My genuine, only hope is that they're making every job really boring so that they can add some specialization system, something that lets you branch out with what a job can be, in 8.0 assuming that 100 remains the level cap. I admit it feels like a total pipe dream with how tonedeaf basically every change has been for the past few years, but I have to have some hope in my heart that there's a purpose to all of these seemingly awful changes.

    ruining jobs so they can be fun in 8.0 surely wouldn't make any sense sadly they would save any changes like this for 8.0 if it was for that reason, I think they only said it to give us false hope that we'd get any better job design down the line.

    I wish I had the same hope you had, I used to but lets be real here have they actually shown any interest in listening to the playerbase? I don't think so maybe a few things but when it comes to job design in particular they do not listen.

    If they actually cared about the existing playerbase of these jobs they would have at least given us a heads up about massive black mage changes to aim to reduce cast times and remove astral timers, so that we could give feedback. But they don't they will change it without a second to actually think about people who enjoyed the job, they gave pictomancer getting some slight potency reductions more of a spotlight, then core fundamental changes to a job.
