Please don't remover black mage timers and full casts

Black mages entire identity and difficulty comes from having to manage the timer of astral fire and positioning proactively instead of as a reaction. In the live letter, black mage had partial casts and no astral fire timer to manage, essentially removing the core play style of the job.
Not every job needs to be played by every one and the only way to make every job playable by anyone is to make them all the same. The difficulty in managing timers and having long casts is what makes black mage fun for the people who play it. People want to have difficult jobs and be able to improve instead of press a single gcd without possibility for failure.
Players are tired of jobs being simplified and turned into gen/spend playstyles. Let us keep our timers and the difficulty that makes black mage fun.

I really don't think they will listen, at this point it's likely too late.

I understand how you feel though I really enjoyed black mage and a few other jobs but over time they got changes that simplified them to jobs that I don't enjoy anymore.

It always felt so good to keep Enochian up in fast fights and actually out-dpsing the more mobile jobs.
With those changes this "skill-expression" will be reduced by a lot.

Slower cast times means triple cast is only used for movement instead of dps gains,
You cant mess up your fire phase anymore. That will kill alternate rotations even more now because there is no timer to work around anymore.
For materia you can now just meld crit and be done with it, the same thing for all casters so one more choice gone now.

I understand the WHY of those changes. The faster fight designs and all but this just kills the entire thing BLM-mains found fun about that job.
Working around the fights and keeping the timer up. It's all gone now for the sake of flashy fights.
The entire year of feedback for absolutely nothing, just to keep getting ignored on job feedback over and over and over again. All the content creators begging to not simplify jobs even more, ignored.
That interview, where Yoshida said jobs will not get any simpler? A straight up lie.
They didn't even had the courage to announce it anywhere.

I have no hope for the 8.0 job changes anymore. Probably mana getting removed and casts all becoming instant.
    I give up, I don't care anymore.
Do whatever you want Yoshida. I was actually enjoying what I saw of 7.2 but now?

This is my last post on this forum for good. It will be ignored like all the other feedback before.

We figured out how to keep uptime even before triple cast and 2 billion instants were a thing. But no. Friction = bad in Square's eyes. Yet again, the core base carrying the casual base is sacrificed.

Did you forget about the standing ovations for the two-dye-channel at Fanfest? Or the great new blacklist? People were so hyped about things that should have been implemented years ago.

Now they are going to make the game terrible, then fix the terrible, then announce at the next Fanfest their great work and hype everybody up. Then make it terrible again. Rinse, repeat.

    Just wait 2 more years.
(And keep paying your sub muahaha.)

It is still incredibly amusing that they decided to do that all client-side and all unencrypted.

There's just not a word to describe it but boobery.

These decisions are probably the worst ones they could've made for BLM. The entire rotation and playstyle revolved around the AF/UI timer and long cast times; entire fight strategies would be designed around giving BLM as much up-time as possible, the timer encouraged risky plays, and it used to offer varied playstyles with the right spell speed.

What happened? BLM used to be the best designed job in the game. It was one of the few that had multiple rotations, multiple different builds to facilitate those rotations, a playstyle that used to facilitate high risk with high reward, optional extra complexity that only the most skilled could make use of. EW ended up trying to mould it into the 2 minute burst, but it still at least looked and felt like BLM and was still one of the few jobs in EW that had some decent design decisions.

If this is what we can expect for a supposed 8.0 job rework, then I want nothing to do with it. RDM and glamour is the only thing keeping my attention at the moment, and that can only keep me entertained for so long. At this point every job needs its own strike.

Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
    1. An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
    2. Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
    3. Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
    4. Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.

Maybe the 8.0 rework was about making every job play exactly the same with different glamour all along.
To make it new player friendly for all the.... new players? Where are they going to get these new players from I wonder.
Is their legit plan for the long run to just trap new people into the super long MSQ grind so they are too distracted to complain about the lacking of actual meaningful changes and gameplay, and just fork over submoney?

After what they did with Samurai and completely ignoring people's feedback years ago, I stopped caring about their obsession with balance, accessibility and homogenization. Because in the long run, this will all inevitably bite the dev team in the ass and they'll have no choice but to either course correct or double down on their tone deaf decision making when it comes to gameplay combat.
