    Alliance Raids Long Term

The alliance raids in the game are hit and miss as far as whether most people will enjoy them, and I'm of the opinion that most are fine the way they are. Chaotic was a nice touch, could have done without the body checks.

Anyways, the long term I'm talking about in the name of this thread is...item level of the gear, and token usage.

After an expansion, tokens become useless currently. Really should throw them away because you can't get or really use them anymore. What if they were to keep dropping the tokens though? And that we could exchange the tokens for gear and other loot from them. Maybe the cost of getting gear would be fairly high as an incentive to run the raid more to keep longevity to the content aside from being unlucky in getting the gear/glam piece you're hunting down. Such as 5 tokens per piece of gear, and unique untradeable items would cost even more. Plenty of runs for the glamour if you want the whole set maybe all of the sets.

I would also like the return of weekly or repeatable quests such as the quest from Heavensward which if we accept before running the raid, would give us a separate token to exchange for an accessory and a rare glamour piece of gear. I have hoped for the return of those quests ever since we had that quest. Something that if we remember or notice it's there and we accept it before running the content, means that we get something a little more from doing the content. A nice little extra.

Getting tome gear augmenting materials from alliance raids shouldn't cost each available raid's tokens to get a single augmenting material. It's alright at the beginning of the expansion, but 3 raids per week at the end of the expansion for one tome gear augmenting material is a bit much. At the one a week, it's infinitely better to hop on a hunt train and spend hunt currency. Uncapping the tokens and giving us the token exchange store later would be a better move if we do ever get a token store for alliance raid tokens. Getting the token store later would mean not getting the token store as soon as the alliance raid becomes available, but perhaps at the beginning of the next major patch.

I would like to be able to set a goal for how many times I run a regular alliance raid. The fact that we have tokens that we can exchange for gear and everything with chaotic is nice...but how often will we get chaotic alliance raids?

As for item level, since alliance raids are in the odd patches between savage raids, I believe enough time has passed that not only should we not have a limit to the amount of gear we can roll on in a week from the day the alliance raid is released, the gear should be at the same item level as augmented tome gear. Chaotic if it's in the same patch, should be the same item level as the savage/relic weapon of the patch cycle. 5 item levels higher than the rest of the gear of the patch cycle.

Notice how the FF14 community has been so Stockholm'd that the only dimension they can imagine for gearing is the all-important item level.

Because that IS the only dimension.
Yoshi has stripped literally every single interesting stat out of the game entirely. Just look at XVI. Hell look at XIV 1.23 (when Yoshi is as in charge) Vs XIV 2.0+
There's absolutely no dimensions at all to gearing.

The absolute most interesting it ever got was tanks wearing DPS accessories in 2.0 to get more STR instead or more VIT and he got rid of that also.
