SQEX: Policing ToS violations in Frontile is YOUR responsibility

The mogtome event is producing the usual miserable FL experience.

Lethargic play is a ToS violation. A letter from the director dated 4/25/2022 states:

    1. Uncooperative/Lethargic behavior

All PvP content, including Crystalline Conflict, is intended to be a battle/contest of skill between players. Participants must bring their best to the fight, and for this reason uncooperative or lethargic behavior is prohibited. Let’s strive to do our best even in situations where defeat is imminent, regardless of whether or not you’re interested in the rewards.

It is difficult for players to police this in-game via vote dismiss if they are busy engaging in the fight. Similarly, reporting post-match is clunky and does nothing to improve the battle.

Please SQEX, reissue the above letter, preferably in stronger terms that emphasizes bans will be applied for repeated violations.

Also implement real-time measures that auto-kick lethargic players. The current AFK kick is insufficient. It's apparent some players are using auto-clickers to circumvent this.

In addition, you have the game data. If a player consistently does negligible damage and/or restores minimal health, ban them from PvP. Stating lethargic play is a ToS violation without actively combating it is not only cowardly, it compounds the problem.

Edit: you can tell how steamed I am from crap matches from the fact I can't spell "Frontline." Oh dear.

They don't even seem to act against players that ragequit in ranked games, which is arguably even easier to track and a bigger offense, so... There has always been a gigantic gap between GMs and the actual TOS.

Whilst I am very much against lethargic gameplay etc (as mentioned many times on this forum) and I am with you 100% on this.
However, I do think that the game must do better at bringing the skill level up, so that players "best" could be a little bit better. Frontline has very little introduction and there is little in the way of pvp tutorials. So in some ways the easy defence for bad players is - they don't actually know what they are doing and game doesn't teach them almost at all.

It would be cool to have the option for one or two players to sit in a viewing booth to watch or learn from a class they're interested in playing instead of being thrown straight into the fire. CC would be a little easier to do that with than a fl map though.

Agreed, the lack of an on-ramp for PvP is an issue. Equally, when you have played several thousand matches, or -- far better -- have the source data on all games, distinguishing between ineptitude and a violation of ToS is not difficult.

For a very long time I wish SE took more active involvement in this sort of moderation. I realize that 24/7 active moderation isn't sustainable, but they haven't even taken any real measures to disincentivize such lethargic play.

Until the day comes that AFK'ing or Netflix gaming isn't worth peoples' time, this won't change. Participation rewards in PvP will continue to be the root cause of this behavior.
