I would just report that shout like it's crossing the line into inappropriate territory even in LL I luckily haven't read anything similar yet.Quicksands ERP scene is pretty much only on Balmung. I can sit there on Light DC without someone hitting on me without my consent.
But since you play(ed) both games aswell you can see the huge difference between the RP community in WoW and XIV.
We can probably both agree that Limsa is the Orgrimmar/Stormwind of FFXIV. In all the years I played WoW I've never seen a single ERP Event Ad with inappropriate Language while Idling in Orgrimmar. Meanwhile Limsa "RP" Event Ad's are going totally crazy like the one example I gave on Page 10 in this post.
FF14 A Gooner Reborn.
Then report it? The function is there for a reason if you think rules have been broken. Complaining on forums will do diddly squat.Quicksands ERP scene is pretty much only on Balmung. I can sit there on Light DC without someone hitting on me without my consent.

I have flashbacks of those parents who ask you to educate their children for them, happily forgetting that your role as a teacher is not to do everything but to help them progress in a given subject.
Same thing here, as you say: games can't replace parental control either.
I dont think you understood what i meant there. There was someone trying to defend ERP Club Ad's with inappropriate language. Saying as long the shout contains "NSFW" or/and "18+" it should be allowed in a game thats 12+. Language itself can be inappropriate enough to not be used in a 12+ game shoutchat/PF.
Forums are there to point out stuff that is going obviously wrong. Sorry lmao.
The difference is that this is not a classroom. Its SE's Job to make this game safe for an 12+ y/o if they lable it as a 12+ game. At least to the extent that you dont see ERP Club Ad's in the Major Ingame Cities containing inappropriate language or/and links to websites/dc-server with inappropriate content for an 12y/o.I have flashbacks of those parents who ask you to educate their children for them, happily forgetting that your role as a teacher is not to do everything but to help them progress in a given subject.

Im not a parent myself and will probably never be but if I were I would at least expect SE to work on making the game 12+ conform including community created content.
Even if you ignore A4S...And this comes from someone without ex, savage or ultimate clears?
Ive started playing a long time before ShB but ok.
The 1. Raidtier has always been easy since Stormblood. Always a pushover in terms of DPS Checks. The 2. Raidtier on the other Hand was always somewhat challenging when it comes to DPS Chekcs. Look Brute Justice, Kefka Doorboss, Shiva and P8. The first Raidtier is meant to be easy DPS-Checkwise to give players the time to learn and get used to new Jobs and Rotationchanges. Otherwise we would get another A3 Staticbreaker incident.
But please ask all the PLD Mains if raiding in HW was so much better. Ask all the WHM Mains in early Stormblood if eating most Tankbusters after Almagest was fun to deal with. But everything back then was so much better , right?
Exdeath had a very tough DPS check. So too did Titan, although you can argue that was because of the encounter time bug. P4S's DPS check was tight but can be easily circumvented by going MNK+RPR, so it was probably more of an issue with job balance by that point.
M4S is completely different. In NO first raid tier have people been able to clear it week 1 with 5 deaths and not even see enrage. And that is even without a Pictomancer.
Also: covering WHM to soak tankbusters was actually peak gameplay. It was fun, unique, and unexpected. Imagine letting aggro mechanics and unique abilities like Cover create unique, emergent gameplay in a RPG? You will never see that in modern FF14. PLD sucked but people like you are so unimaginative that you think the only way to address job imbalance is to remove job identity and dumb down all the jobs. (Also, PLD only sucked in optimization in SB and solved the issue of PLD's weak magic mit in HW. It was very good for prog.)
Anyways, please keep complaining about ERP while crying that the game is actually good and has good gameplay right now. It's like you are incapable of identifying cause and effect.
Oh also,
why are you even arguing about DPS checks when you haven't even cleared a single Savage tier before week 4 or 5
You are not even in a position to EVER have experienced a DPS check in a Savage tier. I don't really get people like you, trying to argue about things you clearly have no first-hand experience with.
Guess I'll just quote my other reply:
This again??
- Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB
- ERP Has been part of MMOS for at least 20 years. Are you new to online gaming?
- If you're letting your 13 year old child play an online game without supervision, you're an awful parent/guardian.
- Why do you care about what consenting adults do or don't do in private venues?![]()
I agree with you. Partially. But I never said the game is good. I even said that the game always had issues that were solved by creating other issues instead.
O4S had maybe a higher dps check, but also had RDM in a expantion with way less 8-Man bodychecks cheesing you through the entire fight and speeding up prog this way.
M4S being cleared with 5 deaths was also the result of solving issues by creating another one. It was because of pct being too broken. Its no secret that they buffed other Jobs instead of nerfing pct without adjusting the upcomming raidtier probably because of fear to disappoint the playerbase again like that one time they adjusted the difficulty without the time to properly playtest it in E7S.
Having to cover a WHM for a tankbuster because of a aggroreset was maybe engaging and unique but also unhealthy for the game. Stormblood was a rough time for DRK mostly because of PLD's cover and other utility.
PLD being good in prog during HW might be true, but do you really think having to cast Stoneskin for everything while also having both Off- and Tankstance on a GCD was fun? Not to mention all the issues that accrued while playing PLD+DRK.
There are other ways to make a Job fun and enganging to play. Shield Swipe for example. Having to pay attention to incoming DMG and your Oath Gauge for a minor 100p gain was fun. I really hope they dont take Third Eye from SAM away in the future.
Regarding your last comment,
You know that the raidtier doesnt end after one week, right? I'm not clearing a tier week one because im PF'ing since the middle of sigmascape while not having the time to sit 15 hours per day in party finder.
E8S dps-check for example was a problem for PF even with gear months later. Something we have never seen in the first tier.
Code of Conduct
9.2 Community Standards: Signatories shall ensure that their terms of service with players in Online Gameplay Environments incorporate certain provisions in easily understandable language that are usually included under the heading of so-called ‘Community Standards’. These provisions shall:
9.2.1 prohibit players from introducing content or indulging in online behaviour which is illegal and/or harmful. Such provisions shall describe the consequences of any breach of their terms.
Examples of such content or behaviour can be: abusive, bullying, corrupting, defamatory, degrading, fraudulent, harassing, insulting, obscene, offensive, racist, sexist, threatening content, or content that incites violence, terrorism, hatred or self-harm, or that might impair the physical, mental or moral development of players.
9.2.2 ensure that all reasonably practicable precautions are taken to ensure that Online Gameplay Environments that allow text, voice, video chat, or image sharing protect children from access to age-inappropriate content introduced by other players.
I'm pretty sure it is against the ToS looking at 9.2.2.
And again... Its not about ERP behind closed doors, Its about the way its advertised in Shoutchat and Partyfinder.
