It's fine to call ToS unfair, but to deny that these PFs are breaking ToS is completely different.or we disagree with it completely just because something is written into a tos, rule or law doesn't mean it should be obeyed sometimes people make rules they HAVE NO RIGHT to make to start with, and this is one of those examples when the MSQ story and content itself has it written into the lore/and story its hypocritical to have a rule against it in the TOS
not like you can see whatever weird mod others use in their game. and also there is a word filter in the game.... what will a child coincedently landing in such a place see thats not appropriate?
Yeah I don't doubt it happens, but on the rare occasions I use PF, I look for what I'm interested in. Similarly, if I'm at the MB in Limsa I'm not reading chat unless it is from my FC.
I can see the sense in providing a toggle option that filters listings and chat that feature "18+" and "NSFW" as part of a more sophisticated block/self-exclusion function. But to answer the question posed in your OP, it is allowed because it does not violate ToS.
I think if they added a tag to party finder listings where you can select "RP" would go a long way, but that ultimately depends on whether people would actually properly tag their party finder lolYeah I don't doubt it happens, but on the rare occasions I use PF, I look for what I'm interested in. but I imagine with it, you could potentially filter it out, and if you actively want to see those listings then you can filter to only see them
the muted words list could also be doing a lot more since I believe even when you have certain words blocked, it'll still show a message saying it contained a blocked word ather than not showing anything

I think every MMORPG I've played has had this stuff in it. It's always been a thing. As the game grew, the bulk of this crowd moved over to this game. Because of course they want to do it in the most popular games. And really before you say mods, most games can be modded tbh.
18+ is a common thing to put just for maturity reasons. Many FCs put it despite not doing this sort of stuff. So it's hard to really police it and the last time they did, it resulted in a thread with over 100 pages of complaints.
As long as they make sure that people under 18 don't participate, I believe they are allowed to do it.
Realistically, I have not normally met people that young. Usually people that young are being watched by parents who also play the game tbh. But the free trial used to only go below level 50 whereas now you can play up to Stormbloood for free, so it's more realistic that someone that young could play without a parent knowing. Still, there are so many other online games now that they often get into those instead.
I do RP myself and I have to use the NSFW tag not because I ERP I absolutely only do with Nero boyfriend and that's all but because of the theme my character is tagged with! dark+ because only dang I don't mind making her kill other people character spoken before hands tho but ya 18+ and NSFW aren't always because of ERP BUT! something you can see where the NSFW is targeted in OP exemple I think we all know why x)
There's a lot worse issues in this game to complain about atleast they put +18 warnings.
Thinking that potential Cybergrooming is not a big issue is wild. We have 12 y/o's on earth that are playing for example GTAV. A +18 warning doesnt do shit but doesnt mean that this is not an issue.
In several EU countrys its even against the law. This kind of "RP" could even get you to jail. Doesnt matter if you dont know the age of the other person or/and have the consent of said minor.
This Game is available to 12+ y/o's in my country.
How can someone think that this is not a big problem after looking at the 2 following screenshots

It also boggles my mind that almost every single person trying to defend this here comes from the american datacenter. Is America really that kind of place where stuff like this is socially acceptable?
That's just jumping to conclusions though isn't it? I know cyber grooming is a big issue but not only is it rare in this game cuz of having to sub you are also making the serious accusation without any proof that minors are indeed getting groomed.Thinking that potential Cybergrooming is not a big issue is wild. This is probably a path we don't wish to go down, but if you want to look for sweeping generalizations, America is the kind of place where freedom of expression and personal responsibility are highlighted.
