So i wondered, could i clear this dungeon via trust without pressing any buttons? Ive done the dungeon normally, i know and can do all the mechs. But always while pressing buttons. So ive just finished. Qued as monk(chosen because its barely geared and because it shared the role with the other dps to avoid giving any extra buffs to the party), used mouse-look movement. Stood back with the kid during all trash pulls(after moving enough forward for tank npc to get agro). Dodged boss attacks, pressed 0 buttons. Not a single attack, buff, or debuff - not even a sprint. Actively slowed down the three of them because the healer insisted on giving me all the buffs, even though the other dps was the only one fighting. Result of the test is that in about 45 mins the three NPCs i brought(thancred, uri, estinien) can finish the dungeon. No it isnt a "blind" test, like i said i do know the mechanics to look out for. But still, if you can beat the dungeon literally without hitting any buttons then how much easier do they need to make it to satisfy people?
I'm glad you asked that question. It is precisely the mechanics and the DDR response required to "solve" them that trips up people. Indeed the fact that NPCs can clear it with the player doing no damage -- true in many if not all MSQ dungeons -- shows how terrible the current design is. If a DPS doing 0 damage can clear by putting their feet in the right place, the design is rubbish, but can still be difficult.

That said, I don't think this dungeon is a particularly good example of a difficult DT dungeon. To me Origenics is far more of a challenge. Yuwey is borderline comical with NPCs, particularly on the last boss where they run around in circles like the outro of a Benny Hill episode.

Current/modern difficulty metrics are extremely binary. Difficulty isn't organically baked behind the battle mechanics and jobs anymore. You cannot carry people and make them succeed at mechanics that will kill them. The only safeguards they found to counterbalance this is making tanks invulnerable in case the healer dies, which drives the binary effect even more lopsided once that safeguard fails.

Though I'll admit so far in DT, I've ran quite a bit of expert dungeons, this one as well and have yet to stumble in parties like that...

This yeah. It is easy enough, its post lv 100. Be better or come back later, but the bar is already too low, no, we dont need it any easier.

Try turning your camera to a completely top-down view so you can see exactly which direction the hand is pointing. It's easier to line everything up that way. There's no target and no other mechanic at that time, so all you need to do is focus on the hand and press any movement button when it turns the way you want it to.

This is so exhausting, not only the entitlement of the ppl wanting these things, but the ppl trying to play savior to the poor poor sprouts and RP players in lvl 100 content. The difficulty has been ramped up, but these dungeons are still by no means "hard" if you are even remotely interested in trying and understand that failing is a huge part of learning. This is exactly why we cannot have nice things and the devs can't decide what direction they want to go with combat. If you want a graphic novel with some light RP, there are plenty of games out there that serve this purpose. But clutching your pearls and screaming at the slightest hint of difficulty is really just getting old at this point and it's bringing the game, and franchise at large, down.

It's a game, if you don't want to play it, don't, but don't come in here and scream that you may have to actually learn how to press 3 buttons and not step into clearly indicated mechanics the one time you are going to actually run the dungeon. Not everything has to be changed just for you.

Temporary misdirection is a rough mechanic for me as well. I found the Fall Guys crossover event helpful to practise it, one version of the course has temporary misdirection in round one. It's sadly not available right now though.

In my experience the bleed from clipping the edges in Yuweyawata is much less dangerous than the proximity aoe so I recommend focusing on getting to the edge of the arena even if your path isn't perfect.

I've been enjoying Dawntrail dungeons more than EW ones on the whole, I hope SE keeps the difficulty roughly the same going forward.

Damn, it's really sad that needing to play with your eyes open during an MSQ dungeon is considered to be "difficulty going crazy"...

it is already easier because the pointing hand rotates slower than usual.

Skill level is a bottomless Pit, i have honestly no idea what people want to be "easier" , maybe run Sastasha on lvl 100, would that be an okay difficulty?

If there is 0 challenge in a video game, what even is the point in having combat. Go play games like Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe, there is 0 combat, if you can manage to listen to a narrator for 6 hours without any meaningful form of gameplay, that is the right game for you.
