Black screen on launch

I've been encountering an error where the game shows a black screen upon launch and refuses to progress to the main menu. The only input of any kind that it will respond to is being forcibly closed using task manager. I have tried restarting my device, resetting my system settings in the game's launcher, restoring my game data, and reinstalling the game entirely, none of which have made any difference. I have confirmed that my device meets the game's system requirements. This error has only occurred launching the Steam version, I don't have a non-Steam version installed to test.

Update: The issue appears to be age-related damage to my device, causing it to no longer be sufficient for FF14.
