    Unbalanced interesting classes

    We traded interesting classes for 20 flavours of beige slop + gay mage and interesting encounter design for DDR fight design and we still get this garbage

    Why do we have a harshly enforced trinity design where the 8 supports are shades of the same class and we have support classes that have no support allowing for easy mathematical balancing when they still can’t balance it

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    I mean normal in relative comparison between the 'no role' clears. "No healer ult" still looks to be far more normally seen than "no tank ult" because tanks makes fights far more comfy than what healers can provide. Both clears are still going to be irregular regardless because people are used to just clearing with a preformed group of 2-2-4, but if I had to choose between one of the 'no role runs' I'd still take no healer runs over no tank runs, simply because it's comfier, lol. Sorry for the lack of clarification.

    Thing is, in theory homogenizing everything should improve balance somewhat, but if you water down the whole battle system to a single metric, then it puts even more strain on balance and the slightest difference, say, in damage profiles, or mitigation/healing profiles, will immediately stand out because that's the only metric those profiles can be judged with.
    They did paint themselves into a corner with this it's not even funny.

    It's because people are pissed off for years now about the trinity. If healers and tanks were fun to play and actually needed outside of occasional pressing a tankbuster mitigation which is readiliy available and using an AoE heal once or twice a minute we would cheer up these clears. But in the current situation these clears are just like rubbing salt into the wound.

    Speaking for myself, at this point I'd like the job devs to just make it clear of one from two things regarding the topic:
    1. Roll back trinity, OR;
    2. Just outright admit they hate dealing with healer/tanks & axe out the trinity.
    Anything, but this shallowly designed roles that pleases nobody. I know they're not going to. I'm going wishy washy as much as they did toward the roles design.

    ...so what exactly do we have multiple-expansions-improved invulns, 40% CDs, boosted Short CDs and Convalescence-infused Rampart for if the ONE thing tanks were shaped up to do was surviving the hits that nobody else can... is done by the other roles?

    Like, congrats to the clear, I get it it is an accomplishment - but did I really need to lose all nuance of aggro management (on the tank side since Shadowbringers) and nuanced combat rotations (MP/Blood interaction, Beast gauge minmaxing) only for other roles to replace the one thing my role was supposed to be focused on? Come on man... first healers, now tanks?

    Yes I know this only applies to this fight maybe and just shows how badly this fight is designed, but it is an Ultimate for god's sake... this shouldn't be possible.

    The next ultimate will come with a new difficulty named ultimate². Surely that would actually need all 3 roles.
