How can regulators be repurposed in such a way ? Do you mean we could store a soul having an opposite elements to bring back an aetheric balance in the patient's body ?

Wouldn't dissipating the dome be the same as severing the link between the two shards ? Despite the presence of the vanguard ?
Or if I want to take it further, even if we succeeded at "dissipating" the dome while maintaining the shard in the source, wouldn't it be a risk to contaminate Tural with a sudden surcharge in thunder aether ?

Maybe not literally the more I think about it, but -- and I could be wrong, because Porxies are arcane entities it could be possible to recreate their abilities as an Electrope circuit, and that circuit could be integrated into a Regulator. Some modifications might be needed so it only focuses on lightning aether. Though it would be hilarious if it turned out a Porxie can be just shoved into a Regulator!

That's not completely idiotic actually ! I like your idea !
Especially because initially, we needed supercomputers fueled by ceruleum to develop that formula. I don't remember why it has to be porxies though (maybe cuz a "human" does not have enough aether to cast it), but it wouldn't be so wrong to imagine a living circuit containing that formula, maybe with magismology we can do wonders

I have to agree. Malleable seems to most logical at the moment in xiv.

I think currently the only part of Alexandria that still isn't 100% attached to the source is Living Memory. So making the dome go away shouldn't be that bad. Obviously you would have to do it in a way that wouldn't cause the lightning to go haywire and cause even more destruction. Yet I'm not sure if they want to put the Everkeep into an Azys La or Tempest situation where for us they have to stay looking the same but that at some point in time the air bubbles will disappear and the various floating islands will come crashing down due to us shutting off huge swaths of its power sources. I headcannon that the Garleans have somehow managed to go and rescue what was left of Regula's crew after we defeated Zurvan and some time before 6.0. If Stephanivien can safely steal an Allagan engineering robot with very little hassle then Garlemald should be able to retrieve any personal that might still be there.
