Or if I want to take it further, even if we succeeded at "dissipating" the dome while maintaining the shard in the source, wouldn't it be a risk to contaminate Tural with a sudden surcharge in thunder aether ?
I think currently the only part of Alexandria that still isn't 100% attached to the source is Living Memory. So making the dome go away shouldn't be that bad. Obviously you would have to do it in a way that wouldn't cause the lightning to go haywire and cause even more destruction. Yet I'm not sure if they want to put the Everkeep into an Azys La or Tempest situation where for us they have to stay looking the same but that at some point in time the air bubbles will disappear and the various floating islands will come crashing down due to us shutting off huge swaths of its power sources. I headcannon that the Garleans have somehow managed to go and rescue what was left of Regula's crew after we defeated Zurvan and some time before 6.0. If Stephanivien can safely steal an Allagan engineering robot with very little hassle then Garlemald should be able to retrieve any personal that might still be there.

Regarding the sickness that kid have, is it explained how did he get sick ?
Cuz, making a parallel with ShB and the 1st shard, this getting similar sickness were transforming into sin eaters, some because they were hit by sin eaters, or eating the buns Vauthry gave, others because being too much exposed to light ? But this much exposition would come only if you went to the great void right ?

So I was wondering, in the 1st shard, should we have had to make protecting scales (from Vrtra scales if available at that time) to venture into the 1st shard ? and same into that lightning dome ? Why did we not do it ?

Another question: since in a shard hit by such aether taking over the others, do the actions requiring that same element go haywire too ? or why do they not ? In that lightning dome, seems like electrope is confining lightning to make things work, so in A4, setting aside the health problems regarding the use of regulators, Eutrope/Wicked Thunder is overusing electrope and lightning aether, so why does it not go haywire in a world overflowing with lightning ?

Meaning, whether it be the 1st shard or any other shard dominated by one particular element, it should be forbidden to use magic related to that element since it could/should accelerate exposition and deterioration of one's body ?

Milos’ sickness was due to him being genetically sensitive to lightning aether, in an environment suffused with it. Since the scions have no such condition, and the environment isn’t as bad as the 13th no scales were needed. Alisaie even mentions that while the porxie is able to realign his aether it can’t to anything about his sensitivity and he can quite easily relapse.

And no, magics of the same element as an overaspected shard don’t mutate, the ones of the voidsent didn’t, so why would lightning in Alexandria.
