    EU (Light & Chaos) Servers High Ping Past Week

    Hello! My group (~9 players) of friends and I normally play together a couple of sessions a week and this past week we've noticed that there's a significant heightened ping the last couple of days for EU servers. While few of us who are based in EU regions can still play alright, it is currently very unstable compared to previous weeks and months for those who are just outside of EU/UK regions playing together.

    I've noticed that when pinging the servers, I'd normally get 100-150ms, but lately it's been between 200ms-280ms including some rubber-banding and split second spikes every now and then, while few friends are getting what used to be 200ms-250ms but now getting 300-350ms but also massive lag spikes here and there, rendering a few duties, especially high end ones, unplayable.

    We've checked our ISPs and even other games/network tests done and nothing has changed, this is particularly only occurring with FFXIV. We've flushed and renewed DNS, made sure no other programs are open that may interfere with network usage, restarted our routers and devices, played during on and off-peak hours, it's all the same high ping still.

    Are EU servers maybe facing some issues at this moment/due server upgrades?

    I'm one of the members who plays together with him during these sessions. From time to time, I experience the lag myself, and I've seen a number of my friends in the group experience lag to the point of being unable to do damage rotations correctly, if at all. Either that or the lag causes one of us to fail a mechanic out of our control.

    It seems to be a FF14 specific issue in EU, as we've tested other games that are particularly heavy on the CPU and those work fine, but FF14 seems to have lag issues when we play together.

    we have a 102 pages thread about those issue on the french forum.
    And SQE didn't bother to offer a single answer to us.
    So good luck with that i guess.
    Beside paying for a VPN on top of paying for the game, there is no solutions.

    Please make sure all background applications (including antivirus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference before attempting to log in.

    You can also try Right-Clicking on the FFXIV launcher icon and select “Run as Administrator.” This option can also be set permanently by Right-Clicking on the FFXIV launcher icon, selecting Properties, then under the Compatibility tab, check the box that says “Run this program as an administrator” and clicking OK.

    Within Microsoft Edge, click the "Settings" option on the top right of the browser (under the three dots shown) and go to "Privacy, Search and Services" and go to the "Tracking Prevention" section. Make sure it is turned on and select the "Balanced" option.

    Additionally, if any settings have been changed overall, it is best to keep things at default, which you can perform manually by using the "Reset Settings" option under the "Settings" tab. Lastly, please ensure that Microsoft Edge is up-to-date by using the "Settings" > "About Microsoft Edge" option near the bottom left.

    If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, there may be a communication error.

    Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    *You may learn how to do this by visiting http://www.portforward.com/
    Find your specific router's brand and model number from the 'List of Routers' and you will be provided a step-by-step guide on how to access these port settings.
    Otherwise, your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

    If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

    We would recommend contacting your ISP and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access to these ports.

    So far I have received 4 or 5 troubleshooting steps via email with no results so far

    we still have this issue in France for users from the Orange isp , SQE just keep ignoring us.
    I am not surprised if this game keeps losing players concidering how poorly they take care of their customers.
    I have seen free to play games with a way more polished and reactive customer support than SQE.
    Some people in their teams truely deserves to lose their jobs.
