Especially since casuals coasted by just fine when jobs were a lot harder to play at a decent level...
They cleared content just fine.
So often, when a job is made simpler there’s people who will complain that it’s made easier for casuals, but non-raiders are not the ones who are trying to do all their burst windows perfectly, and are not the ones who are complaining if their job does lower damage than others in that role.

Maybe there’s a mindset from the devs where they want to lower the skill floor of each job so getting into raiding is easier, even if that also lowers the ceiling. But it also seems like a lot of simplification and homogenization is for the sake of easier balancing and also so raiders don’t exclude certain jobs from their parties based on differences in damage or utility. We’ve had that happen before.
