Bri'ish innit?
(back for the free 4 days... worth of content. Figured I'm owed at least that much after wasting 1 months sub prepping for Chaotic, and then another month coming back for admittedly great CEs but 0 reason to do them in the first place. Certainly not the story.)
I don't think the weather patterns have changes since ARR's launch. Even then I wonder if it's still on 1.0s schedule lol.

eh they added a few in hw and then like 1 more in stormblood, shb added 2 different ones so it kinda has changed slightly by the few theyve added like the Aether umbrall and that rlly foggy one didnt exist in 2.0
Interesting thing about seasons in FFXIV.
We know there are seasons because NPCs often measure time by the number of "summers" or "winters."
The day/night cycle is equal over the year, implying the axial tilt of the... can we call it a planet for now... relative to its orbital plane around its sun is zero. (The fact that sunset/sunrise is independent of longitude is, of course, impossible, but let's let that skate for now.)
In the absence of axial tilt to produce seasons, the only conventional method of generating them is if the planet is on a significantly elliptical orbit about the sun.
This in turn implies that summers on the planet must be significantly shorter than winters.
Concerning the OP, we just went 214 days in Vegas without rain. I found myself hanging out on my island watching it fall.
I like the rain. Also, they haven't changed anything because the formula for calculating the weather is the same. Otherwise the weather forecasting websites would have broken.
I prefer it to start hailing baseball sized ice chunks with the occasional Lalafell falling out of the sky.
Never forget your one true friend.
I like the rain. I want more of it!
The problem with rather is how suddenly it starts and stop. It wouldn't kill them to do smoother weather transitions. And to throw some low frequency noise function in there as well so the intensity varies over time.
