I mean, it's an outlier, but it's not really poor performance. Almost any modern card can run this game at 1440p60, and the 9070XT can hit 4k60, the next jump up from that is 4k120 and your options are pretty limited for that.

Yea I get what you're saying, but nobody is saying it's poor performance in it by itself, but rather, relative to how the same card performs with practically any other game. I think it's fair for people to expect consistent performance gains across all games when they buy a new card, especially when that card costs so much (in practice, which it does, most models being closer to $1000 than $500 in Europe).
It's also poor performance relative to other cards.
E.g.: In FFXIV the card gives about a 38% performance increase compared to my 2080 Ti, whereas a 5070 Ti is closer to an 86% performance increase.
If FFXIV is your main game, or one you play a lot, this GPU at this point in time is not a very good upgrade.
This was my exact thinking in opting for the 7900 XTX right now. That said, as others have pointed out in this thread, there IS a work around that should provide great performance if you've already bought a 9070 XT, and although no longer relevant to me, for the sake of our beloved FF, I do still hope this gets fixed soon so that extra work in fixing it isn't required ^_^It's also poor performance relative to other cards.

I'm not sure how this stacks up to what it "should be", but here's where mine landed at 1440p Maximum:
Voltage Offset: -120mV
VRAM Max Frequency: 2700
Power Limit: 363W
After that I was able to get FSR4 working in-game through a somewhat painfully convoluted mix of methods. While not really necessary to get smooth framerates, it at least does away with TSCMAA.
I really wish SE would just show FPS average and lows in the benchmark instead of this score. That score really tells me absolutely nothing.
Hit Save Score and it'll open a text file that includes that:
FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail Benchmark Ver. 1.1

Oh hey, that's interesting. I didn't know that, thanks.
Your average framerate seems to be much higher than what was reported by Gamers Nexus during their test, but the lows seem similar.
I really wonder what was going on during their testing.
Interesting, this DOES actually fit in where the 9070 XT is expected to fit in performance wise if you place that 173 Average FPS on GN's 1440p graph, which is good! The question then remains, why they got low resultsand I believe others in this thread did as well, no? Seems inconsistent.
EDIT: I stand corrected, seems others in this thread with a 9070 XT DID get results close to what is expected more or less, though there still appears to be some inconsistency, though it could be CPU related.

Hi, I recently upgraded from a NVIDIA 3070 to a AMD 9070XT and I definitely am noticing a decrease in performance of FFXIV in certain areas like Limsa Lominsa and large scale S ranked / A Ranks have taken a nose dive in FPS for me. Granted I am playing on a fairly dated 10700kf CPU but should it really be this bad? It was running fine with my older 3070 and same CPU. Also I have the same issue where AMD FSR is greyed out for me. So I have no idea if FSR Is actually working or not. Is this going to be a case of simply waiting for a driver update? Will installing Vulkan help this issue?
