Almost a month now and still not a peep from either side here on a fix... this is sad, going into venues and as people have said even limsa sometimes it just dies and drops down to sub 10 FPS even with DXVK or DX11 I am flabbergasted that they are keeping their mouths shut, hopefully this 7.2 patch on Tuesday addresses it but I do not have high hopes

Mine is doing alright, it seems to perform better than what the benchmark reports. I play at 3440x1440 and I'm typically hovering around 120-144 fps on max settings, pure raster performance with no upscaling.

If you're getting 10fps in Limsa, something else is terribly wrong. Lots of player characters is CPU intensive, not GPU. I don't see a difference between a 6900xt, 7900xtx, or 9070xt (I own the last two, sold the 6900xt) when in populated areas. I have no driver issues, the game runs wonderfully.

sorry but an Ryzen 9 5900X would not cause this the only thing in my system that changed is I went from 75+ FPS (in all instances no matter how many people were in draw distance) at 1440p from a 3070 Ti with 8GB VRAM to a 9070 XT with 16GB of VRAM. You honestly should not be claiming that it's CPU to anyone when we're literally talking about a 16 year old DirectX API and Nvidia GameWorks from 16 years ago. You are clearly an outlier in this situation hence "mines seems to be doing better than what the benchmark reports" which the benchmark is from a very reputable source. Do go knocking other peoples other hardware just because you're an outlier, what COULD be possible is I could have a bad GPU but then I wouldn't be getting 100 FPS in Star Citizen an ACTUALLY intensive game or my GPU wouldn't be performing leaps and bounds better in ANYTHING other than XIV.

Clearly your emotions are getting in the way of your troubleshooting process. Maybe you should troubleshoot yourself first? Limsa isn't a good way to judge your performance on FFXIV for a GPU, that's why I included my comment there.

Also, you don't know how exceptions work with consumer electronics. The people who don't have issues don't post. Those who do, will.

I simply was offering my experience with the card, it's good to have reports on both sides. No one is going to help you if you get so emotional over computer parts. I hope you seek the help you need, but I doubt anyone wants to help you.

Wow harassment much because I called you out on your assumptions, anyways I'm not going to read another one of your posts limsa is a perfectly fine place to test considering I could get 75+ FPS there on my 3070 Ti and even in player houses with over 100 players still 75 FPS.

I don't know if this helps anyone, but I have a 7900 GRE and got absolutely terrible performance in FFXIV ever since 7.0. The worst was the Fafnir fight, which was running at around 20fps the whole time for me. This all persisted through a few driver updates, but it was all in Windows 10.

Earlier this year, I moved all the same hardware over to a Linux installation (Fedora w/KDE) and it all works perfectly, including Fafnir which is a solid 75fps, the max refresh rate of my QHD display. To me, this would seem to indicate there is a problem specifically with the Windows AMD drivers and FFXIV, as other games have mostly just seen minor improvements you'd expect due to the lower CPU/RAM overhead.

    WAH WAH! Everyone calm down

7.2 is out today! Would be interesting to see some updates from anyone with this card, are there any observable differences?

Unfortunately not much people atm in Limsa but Maximum graphics settings with no upscaling gives me around 80-95 FPS in Limsa at 4K. I can imagine it would go a bit lower with more people.

    CPU: 9800X3D
    GPU: Sapphire Pulse 9070 XT

I lower some of my settings usually and can get 130+ FPS.

hooow at double the resolution a 5900X with 64GB of RAM and an XFX Swift 9070 XT shouldn't be THAT much of a difference.... esp since you are double the resolution!?

Curious in System Config > Other what are both of your settings for Display Limits / Character and Object Quantity?
