I remember this, the reason BlueSky was growing during that time with Japanese users was because X:Twitter was bringing down the ban hammer on a lot of Japanese Ero Artists; L■li artists in particular were getting hit particularly the hardest. People were creating backup accounts enmasse incase their ban appeal fell through and seek refuge to enjoy their smut on the meantime. Misskey.io saw it's biggest boost during this time period as well. Most artists were told to tone it down and managed re-gain their accounts as far as I'm aware. It was quicker than quoting one of the source articles.

Clearly there are many reasons why people choose a specific social media platform or avoid social media altogether.I remember this, the reason BlueSky was growing during that time with Japanese users was because X:Twitter was bringing down the ban hammer on a lot of Japanese Ero Artists; L■li artists in particular were getting hit particularly the hardest. The OP is not arguing the merits of any platform, simply suggesting that restricting a contest to a single, highly-polarizing platform, is the sort of tone-deaf mistake one is starting to expect from SQEX.
Oh, my bad! I just read latest post and that article and was like Oh! I remember that! lol I should have probably seen what this thread was really about.Clearly there are many reasons why people choose a specific social media platform or avoid social media altogether.

I'm sure someone has touched on it somewhere on here but it's advertisement. I believe Japan is still X:Twitters 2nd biggest market next to US. Its unfortunate to have to go to a third party but that's how advertisement works. It's definitely a big time drag.
You can't even define it.
I tried to read everything so I hope I didn’t miss something, but Square Enix DID open a Blue Sky account. There’s a post pinned, from 3 months ago, saying that it’s an official SE account. I do hope that if they have enough followers, they’ll also, at the very least, duplicate the content that’s currently on Twitter, on BlueSky. At the moment, they have 21.5K followers. With a bit of luck, they’ll have an FFXIV one soon-ish too and will include a link to it on the Lodestone… Of note, there’s an account called Final Fantasy XIV, but it’s a parody account, not affiliated to SE.
