At this point, they could even make an official FFXIV Discord, and it would be better for entries.

This is precisely the issue. In addition to the many technical and privacy issues associated with X, its owner means it has become a lightning rod for these wretched culture wars, as well as more general political polarization. Companies that favor X thus get drawn into those same battles, as now evidenced by multiple threads here.
