Because it's free advertising for them on that platform.I'd love to participate in some of the community photo events, like the current one for instax, and try for some prizes.. but.. why do we have to use a 3rd party website like X to submit entries? Would love to have the option to submit on the forums, not through a company I don't want to use, and isn't affiliated with Square in any way!
Why not Reddit? You'll get far more eyes on that than X.

I hope the devs are listening. We need the devs to please listen.
It would be nice if they hosted them on Bluesky, that site sorely needs more users. Run them on both Twitter and Bluesky to start, and then if the latter gets popular enough they could switch to using it exclusively.
Sucks, but we all know why you waited until now to complain about it.
The same reason that they won't advertise on bluesky. Harsh reality as it is, but the average joe/jane is more likely to be using twitter for their various things. Same reason why some people that claimed to have left would end up coming back to twitter. They're wanting to advertise to and hope to grab the average joe's attention. That said, I don't use or intend on ever using instagram, so I've no idea if they also do anything there. You also run into a double whammy of Japan being as it is, to be slow moving and rigid when it comes to stepping away from anything that they're doing settled and comfortable in. (ref, Nintendo's Splatoon 2 having a function that would check if you were using windows '98, them taking so long to start using their own version of a debit/credit card system, them still relying and using yahoo when they willingly put ads within their own email system which is supposed to be secure when they just allow that security risk)
So those things coupled together and unless twitter IP-range banned japan, I don't see them nudging to anything else anytime soon.
Bluesky is only popular in certain selective communities, though. That probably won't change anytime soon. So concentrating on X will be more profitable for them in the long run.
Me too, Erenville, me too
